Quality Control Manager Jobs in Alabama: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality control manager in Alabama?
Most quality control managers in Alabama enter the role through a combination of a technical bachelor's degree and progressive manufacturing or inspection experience. Alabama does not issue a state license specific to quality control managers, but employers across aerospace, automotive, and food production strongly favor candidates holding American Society for Quality credentials such as the Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer. Advancing from a quality technician or inspector role into management is the most common path in the state.
How much do quality control managers make in Alabama?
Quality control managers in Alabama earn a median of about $122,520 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $69,560 for the lowest 10% to over $204,050 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality control managers in Alabama?
Employers hiring quality control managers in Alabama right now include V2X, TITAN COATINGS, and Brasfield & Gorrie, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Alabama's aerospace corridor around Huntsville and its automotive supply base in the Birmingham and Montgomery corridors generate some of the most consistent demand for this role statewide.
Which Alabama cities have the most quality control manager jobs?
Birmingham, Montgomery, and Bessemer account for the largest concentration of quality control manager openings in Alabama. Huntsville leads because of its deep aerospace and defense manufacturing base anchored by contractors serving Redstone Arsenal, while Birmingham draws from automotive suppliers and food processing operations, and Mobile contributes through shipbuilding and port-adjacent manufacturing activity.
Are there remote quality control manager jobs in Alabama?
Yes, but they're rare. Quality control manager work is fundamentally hands-on, tied to production floors, inspection labs, and supplier sites, so most positions require a physical presence. About 6% of quality control manager openings tied to Alabama are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those roles tend to focus on documentation, supplier auditing coordination, or quality systems management rather than direct line oversight.
How can I get hired as a quality control manager in Alabama with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a quality technician, quality inspector, or production associate role at an Alabama manufacturer and building toward management from within. Large Alabama employers in aerospace and automotive, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers clustered around Huntsville and the I-65 corridor, regularly hire entry-level quality staff and promote internally. Earning an ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate credential before applying gives candidates without a formal quality background a measurable edge.
Where can I find and apply to quality control manager jobs in Alabama?
You can find and apply to quality control manager jobs in Alabama on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search for roles that fit your background and experience level, then apply directly to the ones that match.
