JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Technician 1 IQC is responsible for performing incoming quality control inspections and tests on raw materials and components to ensure they meet Jabil’s specifications and quality standards before being released for production.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of incoming materials and components using various measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators).
- Perform basic electrical and mechanical tests as per established procedures and specifications.
- Review and verify supplier documentation, such as Certificates of Conformance (CoC) and material certifications, against purchase order requirements.
- Identify and document non-conforming materials, initiate Material Review Board (MRB) processes, and assist with containment activities.
- Record inspection results accurately in the Quality Management System (QMS) and maintain proper traceability of materials.
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues related to incoming materials.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the IQC department.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or Associate's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Quality, Engineering Technology) preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in a quality control or manufacturing environment, preferably with incoming inspection responsibilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Proficient in using basic inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and basic quality principles.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
