About Mytra:
We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.
About the role
As a Quality Technician at Mytra, you will join our Quality Team during a period of Growth. Our team is currently focused on establishing Quality System, and we need a proactive specialist to help us execute robust Quality System to prevent repeat issues.
What you’ll do:
- Inspect purchased parts per incoming inspection procedure using various inspection devices such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and CMM tools, including selecting a tester.
- Document inspection result as Non-Conforming Record (NCR) to be used as the source to drive communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) by communicating with Product owners to receive and execute per disposition decision.
- Calibrate and certify inspection tools.
- Perform Gage R&R (GR&R) studies to better understand inspection errors.
- Contribute to a safe, clean, organized and well-equipped work environment and support onboarding of future team members.
Ideal Candidates
- Have experience or basic understanding on what to expect from a machine shop, assembly, or test lab in a startup, robotics team, high volume manufacturing, hardware, or electromechanical production environment.
- Can read and navigate drawings and 3D models, interpret metric/imperial tolerances.
- Demonstrate clear communication and constructive dissent, share updates proactively, ask precise questions, and raise risks early with respect for the team.
- Are comfortable in an industrial environment working on heavy equipment, and consistently follow PPE and shop safety practices without being asked.
- Can operate independently on routine work using standard procedures, and know when to escalate.
- Are genuinely excited about robotics and the build/break/fix/prototype cycle — and want to grow into more responsibility over time.
Nice to have:
- Experience in early-stage NPI product development cycles and prototype manufacturing.
- Experience operating manual mills, lathes, or other machine tools (Bridgeport experience a plus).
- OnShape familiarity (or comparable 3D CAD experience; we'll give you time to ramp).
- Forklift and/or personnel lift certification.
- Exposure to PLM/ERP systems (Arena, NetSuite), ticketing and project management tools (Linear, JIRA) and dashboarding tools (Grafana).
A Final Note:
If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply — even if you don’t check every box. At Mytra, we build bots, but we hire humans. We value thoughtful challengers who communicate with clarity and respect, and we’re lifelong learners committed to getting better every day. We move fast, learn faster, and show up for each other under pressure. The best outcomes come from diverse perspectives working together to build something meaningful and built to last.

- Fully subsidized health coverage, including medical (baseline plans), dental, and vision for employees and dependents.
- 401(k) plans and employer-subsidized life insurance.
- Fully subsidized lunch and snacks at HQ—we eat and share stories together at the “long” table.
- Generous PTO and company-paid holidays, including one week over the winter break so everyone can recharge together.
- Voluntary pet insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity.
- Fully subsidized tax advisory services and education to help you understand your equity.
- Commuter benefits, including a up to $150 monthly commuter benefit.

Quality Technician Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality technician in California?
Most California employers require at least a high school diploma plus hands-on inspection experience, though an associate degree in manufacturing technology, industrial technology, or a related field strengthens your candidacy significantly. California has no state-issued license specific to quality technicians, but earning an ASQ Certified Quality Technician credential is widely recognized by California aerospace, medical device, and semiconductor employers as the standard professional benchmark. Community colleges throughout the state, including those in the Los Angeles and San Jose metro areas, offer relevant certificate programs.
Which companies hire quality technicians in California?
Employers hiring quality technicians in California right now include Joby Aviation, Apple, and The Home Depot, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of aerospace, medical device, and defense manufacturers means quality technician roles tend to appear across a broad mix of large primes and their regional suppliers.
Which California cities have the most quality technician jobs?
Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Francisco consistently post the most quality technician openings in California. Los Angeles and San Diego are driven by the region's dense aerospace and defense manufacturing base, while San Jose and the broader South Bay reflect the medical device and semiconductor industries headquartered in Silicon Valley.
Are there remote quality technician jobs in California?
Yes, but they're rare. Quality technician work is largely hands-on, requiring physical inspection of parts, equipment, and production lines on-site. About 6% of quality technician openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to cover documentation-heavy functions such as supplier quality auditing, quality management system coordination, or compliance review rather than floor inspection duties.
How can I get hired as a quality technician in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly for inspection technician or production associate roles at California contract manufacturers, where employers routinely train candidates on measurement tools and internal quality procedures. Large California aerospace and medical device companies such as those in the Los Angeles and San Diego corridors often post entry-level quality inspector openings that require no prior quality experience. Completing an ASQ Certified Quality Technician exam preparation course or a community college manufacturing quality certificate before applying gives a measurable edge over other candidates with a similar background.
Where can I find and apply to quality technician jobs in California?
You can find and apply to quality technician jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to the employer through the listing.
