Warehouse Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a warehouse worker in California?
Most warehouse positions in California require a high school diploma or GED and on-the-job training rather than a formal state license. Forklift operators must complete an OSHA-compliant certification program, which California employers are required to provide or verify before allowing equipment operation. Entry-level applicants can gain a competitive edge by completing a logistics or supply chain certificate through a California community college such as those offered at Riverside City College or Mt. San Antonio College.
Which companies hire warehouse workers in California?
Employers hiring warehouses in California right now include RH, SA RECYCLING, and Floor & Decor, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's dense network of ports, rail yards, and distribution corridors, particularly in the Inland Empire region east of Los Angeles, means large national and regional logistics operators maintain a consistent and high-volume presence in the state year-round.
Which California cities have the most warehouse jobs?
The cities with the most warehouse openings in California are Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Francisco. The Inland Empire cities of San Bernardino and Riverside anchor much of the volume because of their proximity to the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and the vast concentration of fulfillment centers built there over the past decade, while Los Angeles itself draws openings tied to manufacturing, food distribution, and last-mile delivery operations.
Are there remote warehouse jobs in California?
Yes, but they're rare. Warehouse work is by nature a hands-on, on-site role requiring physical presence to handle inventory, operate equipment, and fulfill orders. About 1% of warehouse openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions are almost exclusively in warehouse management, inventory analysis, or logistics coordination rather than floor-level operations.
How can I get hired as a warehouse worker in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is applying for a picker, packer, or shipping associate role at one of the large fulfillment centers concentrated in the Inland Empire, where employers such as Amazon and XPO Logistics regularly hire candidates with no prior warehouse experience and provide paid on-the-job training. California community colleges including Chaffey College and Cerritos College offer short-term logistics and supply chain certificates that strengthen an application, and completing an OSHA forklift certification before applying noticeably improves the chances of moving into a higher-responsibility role quickly.
Where can I find and apply to warehouse jobs in California?
You can find and apply to warehouse jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, preferred location, and shift availability, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
