Position Overview:
J.D.M. Materials Company is seeking a full-time Quality Control Technician to support our quality assurance operations. This role is responsible for performing daily testing of raw materials and finished concrete products, ensuring all products meet company, customer, and regulatory specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform field and laboratory testing of concrete, including gradation, moisture content, slump, air content, and temperature
- Collect and safely transport material samples for testing
- Produce and properly cure concrete test cylinders
- Conduct strength testing of hardened concrete cylinders and document results
- Compare test results against mix design specifications to ensure compliance
- Communicate test results and any issues to the Quality Control Manager and Plant Operations team
- Assist in adjusting concrete mixtures as needed to maintain quality standards
- Maintain accurate records of all testing and inspections
- Follow all company safety policies, as well as MSHA and OSHA regulations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Driver’s License required
- ACI Level I Certification required
- PennDOT NECEPT Concrete Technician Certification (preferred)
- Previous quality control or concrete industry experience (preferred)
- Strong understanding of concrete materials and mix components
- Ability to troubleshoot product issues and recommend corrective actions
- Knowledge of proper concrete testing procedures and standards
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to safely lift 50+ lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills with team members and management
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and occasional overnights
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
