Assistant Property Manager Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a assistant property manager in Pennsylvania?
Most assistant property manager roles in Pennsylvania are accessible without a state-issued license, though earning a credential from the National Apartment Association (NAA) or Institute of Real Estate Management strengthens your application considerably. Employers typically want a high school diploma or associate degree plus some leasing or administrative real estate experience. Completing the NAA's National Apartment Leasing Professional certification is a practical first step that Pennsylvania employers recognize.
Which companies hire assistant property managers in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania assistant property manager roles are posted by Willow Bridge Property Company, Forty2, and Dentons and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Pennsylvania's large residential portfolio operators and commercial property firms are among the most consistent sources of openings in the state.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most assistant property manager jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Erie have the most assistant property manager openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia drives the largest share given its dense urban apartment market and substantial commercial real estate sector, while Pittsburgh's ongoing mixed-use development and Allentown's growing Lehigh Valley rental market account for strong hiring activity in their respective regions.
Are there remote assistant property manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, but they're rare. About 8% of assistant property manager openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which reflects how much the role depends on on-site presence for property tours, maintenance coordination, and tenant walk-throughs. Administrative and leasing support tasks are the parts of the role most likely to be handled remotely on hybrid schedules.
How can I get hired as a assistant property manager in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a leasing consultant role at a residential apartment community, which is how most Pennsylvania assistant property managers start. Large Philadelphia-area operators like Morgan Properties and regional REITs regularly hire leasing agents without prior property management experience and promote from within. Completing the National Apartment Leasing Professional certification before applying gives candidates a measurable edge and signals commitment to the field.
