The Role
As Assistant Property Manager, you'll work directly with our Property Manager to keep the property running day to day. You'll be a main point of contact for residents, help with leasing and paperwork, and keep the office organized. This is a great fit for someone who wants to start or grow a career in property management. We'll train the right person.
What You'll Do
- Greet residents, prospects, and vendors in the office and answer phone calls and emails promptly and professionally
- Help residents with questions, concerns, and requests, and follow up until they're resolved
- Enter and track maintenance work orders, and coordinate with maintenance staff and vendors
- Help with leasing: give property tours, process applications, and prepare lease paperwork
- Help with move-ins, move-outs, and unit inspections
- Record rent payments, send notices, and help follow up on late balances
- Keep resident files, records, and property management software up to date
- Help plan resident communications and community events
- Cover the office and handle day-to-day tasks when the Property Manager is away
- Take on other administrative tasks as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Strong written and spoken English (required)
- Spanish (a strong plus)
- Friendly, patient, and professional with people, including in tense conversations
- Organized and reliable, able to handle several tasks at once
- Comfortable with computers, email, and basic office software; able to learn new systems quickly
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice to Have
- Experience in property management, leasing, real estate, or customer service
- Familiarity with property management software (e.g., [AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium])
Schedule & Pay
- 30 hours per week, on-site or at property
- Monday–Friday, 10am–4pm
- $15–$18 per hour, based on experience
