Radiologist Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a radiologist in Washington?
To practice as a radiologist in Washington, you must hold an active medical license issued by the Washington Medical Commission, which requires completing medical school, residency training in diagnostic radiology, passing USMLE steps, and submitting a licensure application. Most Washington employers also require American Board of Radiology certification or active board eligibility within a defined period of hire. Fellowship training in a subspecialty significantly strengthens your candidacy at academic and large regional health systems.
Which companies hire radiologists in Washington?
Employers hiring radiologists in Washington right now include CommonSpirit Health, RAYUS Radiology, and Skagit Radiology, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of October 2026. Washington's large integrated health systems and academic affiliates account for a substantial share of ongoing openings, particularly for subspecialty and academic-track positions.
Which Washington cities have the most radiologist jobs?
Seattle, Bellevue, and Federal Way have the most radiologist openings in Washington. Seattle leads due to the concentration of academic medical centers and large regional health systems headquartered there, while Spokane and Bellevue generate consistent demand through their own major hospital networks and the growing suburban patient populations they serve.
Are there remote radiologist jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most clinical fields. About 0% of radiologist openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of October 2026, reflecting the profession's strong teleradiology infrastructure. Subspecialties like diagnostic and neuroradiology lend themselves most readily to remote reads, while interventional radiology roles almost always require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a radiologist in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing a diagnostic radiology residency at a Washington-affiliated program, such as those run through UW Medicine or Providence, and transitioning directly into a staff or locum tenens position. New graduates should target facilities that explicitly welcome new attendings, including community hospitals in Spokane and Tacoma that compete for talent with Seattle's academic centers. Obtaining Washington licensure and ABR board eligibility before your residency end date removes the most common barrier hiring managers cite.
Where can I find and apply to radiologist jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to radiologist jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings at Washington employers. Find roles that match your subspecialty and experience level and apply directly through each listing.
