Radiology Technologist Jobs in Richmond: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a radiology technologist job in Richmond?
Focus your search on Richmond's major health system campuses and the growing network of outpatient imaging clinics concentrated in the West End and Short Pump corridors. Candidates with experience in CT, MRI, or interventional radiology stand out in this market. Volunteering or completing clinical rotations at a Richmond-area facility builds the local connections that most hiring managers here look for before posting publicly.
Which companies hire radiology technologists in Richmond?
Employers hiring radiology technologists in Richmond right now include Chippenham Hospital, Vcu Health System Authority, and Henrico Doctors' Hospital, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Richmond's hiring mix leans heavily toward large academic health systems and regional hospital networks, alongside a growing number of free-standing outpatient imaging centers serving the suburbs.
Are there remote radiology technologist jobs in Richmond?
Yes, but only for specific functions, since hands-on imaging work requires physical presence. About 0% of radiology technologist openings tied to Richmond are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to be teleradiology reading positions or administrative roles within imaging departments rather than direct patient-care technologist slots.
How can I get a radiology technologist job in Richmond with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Richmond is landing a radiologic technologist aide or imaging support role at one of the city's hospital systems, which regularly hire candidates completing or recently completing an accredited program. Community colleges and university affiliates in the Richmond area feed directly into these pipelines. Shift flexibility, willingness to float between departments, and an ARRT-eligible credential are the factors that move entry-level candidates to the top of local hiring lists.
