A bit about us: A rapidly growing, field service organization is seeking a Regional Director of Operations to help lead and scale its expanding network of locations. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position working closely with executive leadership to strengthen branch performance, integrate newly added locations, standardize operating processes, and build the infrastructure needed to support continued growth. This is not a traditional desk-based regional leadership role. The Regional Director will spend significant time in the field working directly with Branch Managers, Service Managers, technicians, and local teams. The right person understands commercial door and dock operations, knows how a profitable service organization should run, and is comfortable stepping into a branch, identifying problems, and helping the team solve them.
Why join us?

- Standardize processes surrounding dispatch, scheduling, routing, inventory, service delivery, and billing

- Coach branch leadership on P&L management, labor utilization, productivity, and service profitability

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 7+ years of progressive operations leadership experience
- Direct experience within the commercial door, loading dock, industrial door, access control, or closely related field service industry
- Strong working knowledge of commercial doors, dock equipment, high-speed doors, sectional doors, rolling/coiling doors, and related systems

- Strong understanding of field service economics, including technician utilization, labor management, dispatch, routing, inventory, billing, and P&L performance

- Exposure to acquisitions, branch integrations, organizational growth, or operational standardization is highly desirable
- Experience working with ERP or field service management platforms
- Strong Excel and operational reporting skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, branch leadership, customers, and senior executives
- Willingness and ability to travel 75%+ throughout the region
- Must reside in Massachusetts or Connecticut
THE IDEAL LEADER
You are equally comfortable reviewing branch financials with senior leadership and walking through a service operation with technicians. You understand that improving operations requires more than creating procedures. You need to earn the trust of the people performing the work, understand why problems are happening, implement practical solutions, and make sure those improvements last. You enjoy building structure in growing organizations and aren't intimidated by locations that may still rely on manual processes, tribal knowledge, or different ways of doing things. Most importantly, you want to be in the field. You enjoy visiting locations, solving operational problems, developing leaders, and seeing the direct impact of your work.
WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY
This organization is entering a significant stage of expansion, creating an opportunity to help shape how a growing regional platform operates. Rather than inheriting a finished corporate playbook, you'll have the opportunity to help build it. As the organization continues expanding, this position has the potential to grow significantly in scope and responsibility.

Senior Level Regional Operations Director Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level regional operations director job?
Employers hiring at the senior level want candidates who have owned regional P&L, led multi-site teams through growth or restructuring, and built the operating systems that scale. Demonstrating measurable impact, such as cost reduction, throughput gains, or successful site expansions, carries more weight than tenure alone. Strong candidates also show they can develop managers, not just direct them.
Which companies hire senior level regional operations directors?

Hiring at this level tends to come from multi-location operators, logistics and supply chain companies, healthcare systems, and large retail or service organizations that need experienced leaders to align execution across geographies.
Are there remote senior level regional operations director jobs?
Yes, though most senior regional operations director roles involve at least some on-site presence given the nature of managing multiple locations. About 43% of senior level regional operations director openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid arrangements being the most common structure for candidates who can travel to sites as needed.
What makes a regional operations director role senior level?
Senior level regional operations director roles are defined by scope and ownership. You're accountable for strategy across multiple sites or a large territory, not just executing plans handed down from above. These roles typically require leading other managers, driving cross-functional alignment, and making decisions that affect budget, headcount, and long-term operating direction. Mentoring rising operations leaders is a regular expectation.
