DESCRIPTION
As part of our team, you'll work on complex technical challenges that handle massive scale. From data persistence and security to offline processing and client notifications, your solutions will enable both internal and external selling partners to create and manage promotions seamlessly. This role offers the opportunity to drive deep customer impact while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance systems for managing promotion data across multiple global APIs, ensuring robust data persistence, security, and access control
- Lead architectural decisions for the promotion lifecycle management platform, balancing technical constraints while focusing on long-term extensibility and system performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive solutions spanning the full software lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and maintenance strategies
- Drive engineering excellence by establishing best practices, conducting thorough code reviews, and mentoring team members while ensuring operational excellence through proper monitoring, alarms, and runbook processes
- Analyze complex business requirements and technical constraints to build elegant solutions that simplify existing systems while enabling future innovation for internal and external selling partner experiences

Whether you're optimizing database queries, implementing new platform features, or troubleshooting complex distributed system issues, each day brings unique technical challenges that directly impact millions of selling partners and their customers.

The Promotions Lifecycle Management team is at the heart of the Selling Partner Promotions organization, building the foundational systems that power promotional experiences across Amazon's marketplace. Our mission is to provide reliable, scalable infrastructure that enables selling partners to create, manage, and optimize their promotional strategies effectively. We work on challenging problems at massive scale, handling everything from real-time data processing to complex workflow orchestration.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
