Registered Veterinary Technician
Marketplace Animal Hospital in Lenexa, KS is looking for an outstanding Registered Veterinary Technician to add to our growing team! We are located 1 ½ miles west of JCCC and have a wonderful team of 8 doctors, 5 RVTs, and a caring, fun support staff. The hospital continues to expand and we remain extremely busy so you will be part of the changes to come as the practice continues to grow!

MAH is equipped with all the latest in-house equipment and we utilize Avimark Practice Management Software. Antech is our main outside laboratory but we routinely send to other facilities including many universities. We do not have boarding or grooming and rarely keep animals overnight. All emergencies are referred to the local emergency clinics, so you will not be on-call for any after-hours care.

Hours vary, but include shifts starting at 7:00am (off at 4pm, 5pm, or 6pm depending on the day) during the week. Rotating Saturday hours are 7:45am to noon. You will have Monday off and can enjoy a permanent schedule which is consistent from week to week! Being on time for each and every shift is required and essential. It is also essential that you are able to consistently work your schedule. Pay is DOE but starts at $25.00 per hour.

Successful completion of a background check and a full-panel drug test (inclusive of marijuana/THC/gummies etc) is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Qualifications:

· Registration by KBVE, active and in good standing

· Must genuinely enjoy working with animals even when they are stressed, ill or in pain

· Calmly and safely restrain pets who may struggle, scratch or try to bite

· Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

· Must be able to perform physical duties which include repetitive standing, walking, bending, twisting, with some lifting up to 50lbs (over 40 pounds assisted with another team member)

· Must be able to observe abnormal behaviors and physical problems in patients

· Must be able to operate and maintain equipment pertinent to carrying out their duties, including but not limited to laboratory equipment, anesthesia, and dental and radiographic equipment

· Learn practice management software (Avimark) to enter services, medications, procedures and updates into patient records

Salary: $25.00 per hour and up DOE

Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
