We are looking for a team member to have skills in Fear Free animal handling and excellent forms of communication skills, as we use many forms to talk to our clients. We are looking for the perfect match to join our team! Our team works well together, so we need someone who also wants an environment where we can get our jobs done and still have a good laugh with each other. We have 10-hour shifts available Monday-Friday; currently, no weekends or holidays. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a veterinary clinic.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care.
• Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety and comfort for pets and staff.
• Conduct laboratory work including blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests to support accurate diagnoses.
• Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and anesthesia monitors with proficiency.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following veterinary protocols and safety guidelines.
• Monitor animals under anesthesia during surgical procedures, ensuring proper sedation levels and vital sign stability.
• Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections and promote optimal recovery.
• Support pet owners with pet care advice, post-operative instructions, and client communication to foster trust and understanding.
• You will be responsible for client communications of reporting test results, calling for medication pick ups, answering phones and making appointments.
• Record keeping in Ezyvet practice management software.

Qualifications

• Proven kennel experience with animals in a clinical or shelter setting.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and general animal husbandry practices.
• Experience with veterinary critical care, emergency medicine, and intensive care procedures.
• Skilled in dental terminology, pet grooming, dog training, and animal restraint techniques.
• Proficiency in laboratory work such as phlebotomy (blood collection), IV insertion, vascular access, and animal catheterization.
• Familiarity with veterinary anesthesia monitoring, radiology diagnostics (X-ray), and medical equipment operation.
• Ability to handle diverse animals including dogs, cats, equines (horses), and other small or exotic species.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration within a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Veterinary Experience: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Veterinary Technician Certification (Required)

Other Requirements

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, follow directions and learn new material in a highly physical environment. Ability to practice safe/proper practices with radiography, anesthesia, sterilization, isolation and potentially zoonotic animals. Training of new or lesser skilled staff as required by supervisor.
