Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on federal, state, and local tax laws, including estate planning, securities law, and tribal law & regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts related to tax transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate activities.
- Lead research initiatives utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw to stay current on statutory legal developments affecting tax law.
- Prepare legal motions, court depositions, and trial documentation for litigation cases involving general & commercial litigation, personal injury law, employment law cases, and more.
- Manage legal case files efficiently using advanced case management systems; oversee procedural law compliance throughout litigation processes.
- Conduct client consultations to communicate legal strategies clearly and build strong professional relationships.
- Represent the organization in court depositions, negotiations, and other advocacy settings with confidence and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar required.
- Extensive experience in tax law with a proven track record in estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, patent law, employment law case experience, and personal injury case experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms; strong procedural law knowledge essential.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively in court depositions and settlement discussions.
- Proficiency in contract drafting, trial preparation, legal writing & drafting skills; experience with legal motion preparation is highly desirable.
- Strong research capabilities combined with excellent client communication skills; ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience working within a law office environment or managing complex litigation cases is preferred.
