Tips for Your Remote Financial Professional Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote financial professional openings from across the U.S. in one place. Search roles that match your licenses and experience level and apply directly before postings fill, since remote roles often close faster than in-office ones.
Show your remote production history upfront
Remote financial professional hiring managers want proof you can hit goals without a manager nearby. Quantify your results on your resume: policies issued, assets under management, client retention rates, or new accounts opened while working independently or from a home office.
Get licensed before you apply
Most remote financial professional roles require a state insurance license or FINRA registration before an offer is extended. Completing your Series 6, Series 7, or state life and health license before applying removes the biggest barrier remote employers screen on at the first stage.
Prepare for async-heavy remote interviews
Remote financial professional interviews often include written assessments, video submissions, or asynchronous case studies before you speak to a hiring manager. Practice explaining your sales approach, compliance awareness, and client communication style clearly in written form, not just over a call.
Remote Financial Professional Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote financial professional job?
Target companies built around distributed teams, including fintech platforms, insurance carriers, and independent broker-dealers that have structured remote workflows. Remote employers screen for self-direction, clear written communication, and proficiency with tools like CRM platforms, financial planning software, and video conferencing. Candidates who can demonstrate a history of hitting activity or production goals independently stand out in the remote screening process.
Which companies hire remote financial professionals?
Employers currently hiring remote financial professionals include Ascent Capital, COR Financial Partner, and Hope Wealth Management, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Remote-first firms, distributed insurance carriers, and fintech companies account for a large share of these openings across wealth management, lending, and financial planning.
Can you get a remote financial professional job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level financial professional roles are harder to land because employers expect you to work independently from day one without in-office coaching. Remote-first insurance and financial services firms hire entry-level candidates who can show licensing progress, completed coursework, or a strong understanding of financial products. A state insurance license or a FINRA registration opens significantly more doors at the entry level.
Do you need a degree for remote financial professional jobs?
Not always. Many remote financial professional roles, especially in insurance sales and financial planning, weigh active licenses and demonstrated results more heavily than a degree. Employers hiring remotely look for state insurance licenses, Series 6 or Series 7 registrations, and evidence that you can manage a book of business or client pipeline without daily supervision.
