Senior UI/UX Developer, AI Studio
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role, you’ll join a fun, innovative engineering team within the AI & Data Science (AI&D) organization. You will own the experience for pre-defined AI products, from understanding user needs and shaping UX designs through interaction design, UI implementation, launch, stabilization, support transition, adoption and measurable outcome.
You will remain hands-on while connecting user discovery, UX design and frontend decisions to turn complex business needs and AI capabilities into secure, accessible, intuitive and reusable user experiences. You will partner with product, backend, data and ML teams to translate designs into production interfaces integrated with APIs, services, data and AI capabilities. Within Applied AI, AI Studio turns prioritized business demand into governed, reusable AI assets with accountable ownership and measurable value across software, data, automation, machine learning, Generative AI, RAG, bounded agents, evaluation, observability and lifecycle operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead user-centered discovery with product and UX partners: define user needs, workflows, roles, intended use, baseline, acceptance criteria, accessibility needs, adoption path, operating owner, value hypothesis and measurable technical and business outcomes.
- Translate user research, journeys, workflows, rules, handoffs, exceptions, data dependencies and human decision points into clear UX designs, interaction patterns, prototypes and implementable UI requirements.
- Own the translation of UX designs into responsive UI frontend architecture across human-AI experience, design systems, component composition, state, secure sessions, accessibility, browser performance, API integration, telemetry and graceful failure.
- Lead modern UI delivery using JavaScript or TypeScript and React, Next.js or comparable component-based frameworks; turn UX designs and prototypes into accessible, performant production interfaces, and contribute full-stack expertise to API contracts, integrations, data flows and production support as needed.
- Design and implement human-AI UX and UI experiences that integrate model services, LLMs, RAG, search, agents, BI and deterministic automation with access-aware data, clear loading and error states, evidence, human control, feedback and traceable outcomes.
- Establish risk-based UI, accessibility, integration and end-to-end testing; contribute to CI/CD, staged release, telemetry, rollback, incident response, browser performance, runbooks and support ownership.
- Coordinate governance and GxP controls, create reusable UI components, patterns and playbooks, lead root-cause analysis, measure adoption and experience quality, mentor engineers and improve frontend delivery practices.

Tips for Your Remote Senior UI Engineer Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote senior ui engineer openings from across the U.S. in one place. Search by role and apply directly to the ones that match your stack and seniority level before postings fill.
Make your portfolio do the async selling
Remote hiring managers review your work before they meet you. Annotate case studies with the decisions you made, the tradeoffs you weighed, and the results the team shipped. Static screenshots alone won't communicate seniority.
Show mastery of remote-team tooling
Distributed teams run on Figma, Storybook, Linear, and async documentation. Calling out specific tools you've used to collaborate across time zones signals that you'll contribute from day one without a ramp-up period.
Target companies with mature design systems
Remote-first companies that already have a design system in production are hiring senior ui engineers to own and scale it, not build it from scratch. Positioning yourself around design system leadership narrows your search to higher-leverage roles.
Remote Senior UI Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote senior ui engineer job?
Target remote-first companies and distributed product teams that build software, SaaS platforms, or digital products, because those organizations are structured to evaluate and support engineers who never share an office. Remote employers screen senior ui engineers for strong async communication, self-directed delivery, and a portfolio that clearly shows component architecture, design system ownership, and cross-functional collaboration without in-person prompting.
Which companies hire remote senior ui engineers?
Companies hiring remote senior ui engineers right now include Amgen, Nebius, and Insight Software, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first technology firms, distributed SaaS companies, and digital product studios across software, fintech, and healthcare technology account for the largest share of these openings.
Can you get a remote senior ui engineer job with no experience?
Yes, but remote senior-level roles are harder to land early because employers expect you to operate independently from day one without on-site mentorship. Remote-first startups and small distributed teams are the most likely entry points. A portfolio of real-world projects, open-source UI contributions, or a well-documented design system you built yourself can open doors that a resume alone won't.
Do you need a degree for remote senior ui engineer jobs?
Not always. Remote employers hiring senior ui engineers weigh your portfolio, component library work, and demonstrated ability to lead UI decisions far more heavily than a diploma. A strong body of shipped work, fluency in modern frameworks, and evidence of cross-functional collaboration with designers and product managers will carry more weight than the institution on your transcript.
Which industries hire the most remote senior ui engineers?
Remote senior ui engineer roles concentrate in Fashion & Apparel, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors rely on distributed product teams that build and iterate on customer-facing interfaces continuously, making experienced remote ui engineers a standing hiring priority.
