Deposition Product Group has a proven track record of constant innovation that has resulted in a market leading suite of technology enabling products and a dynamic, winning culture. As a Product Manager you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in maintaining our product leadership by managing existing products and driving development of new products and features to realize short and long-term product roadmaps. The role is highly cross-functional, requiring interaction with hardware engineering, technology development, marketing, software, platform engineering, service teams, supply chain, manufacturing to help shape the products and options. It also provides the opportunity to work with the management to influence decision making. The job has high visibility and offers career opportunity with exposure to multiple functions within Lam and Lam’s overall business in general. The ideal candidate will have sound judgement and decision-making capability as well as demonstrated the capacity to provide structure and guidance and work effectively across multiple organizations and levels of management. This person must possess a blend of business and technical savvy, big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. The product manager needs to have the high confidence to lead a team of highly technical and competent individuals.
What you’ll do
The Product Manager is responsible for managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities. Key responsibilities include the following:
Strategic
- Drive product roadmap, strategy, vision for new products and enhancements of existing products to meet requirements for target applications and customers
- Work in conjunction with product marketing, product line GM, technology development, customer interface to define the portfolio of products offered, including setting product life cycle strategy and ensuring execution to the defined plan of record for each product.
- Facilitate review of market, technology, and competitive trends leading to development and revision of product strategy/roadmap and organizational priorities.
Operational
- Define and update the products and options offered for sale with costs and pricing guidance
- Ensure quality product delivery by reviewing customer product configurations
- Sustain and support products from a product management view including managing the end of life and obsolescence issues and evaluate alternatives in support of product lifetime extension.
- Lead the product lifecycle related documentation and customer notification/communication
- Review non-standard configuration requests and engineering change requests for products
- Manage product costs in support of product profitability targets
Who we’re looking for
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Ability to see the big picture and grasp complex interconnections, self-drive, and “a bias for action”.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas, often at senior levels, to persuade to adopt a different point of view as needed.
- Ability to lay out clear messages and value propositions in clean and concise collateral.
- Excellent collaboration & communication; form cross-functional partnerships to enable successful execution
- Ability to solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business in a fast moving environment
- Leading projects with notable risk and complexity; developing strategy for project execution

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
