QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-4 years of project management experience in an engineering or technical environment, with a strong understanding of engineering systems, processes, and the full project lifecycle.
- Proficient in project management tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities to effectively collaborate across teams and ensure project success.
- Experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or facilities engineering is preferred, along with a strong familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning processes.
- Effectively manage financial resources within projects while aligning with organizational goals and operational needs.
- Possession of valid Oregon driver’s license; excellent driving record and ability to be insured by the hospital’s auto insurance policy.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Medium-heavy to very heavy physical demand level capabilities required. The role involves regular exposure to mechanical, electrical, and varying environmental conditions. Requires the ability to perform both office-based and fieldwork activities. Additionally, the position may require occasional after-hours, weekend, or on-call support to address maintenance needs and emergencies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work directly with the Director of Engineering to define project objectives, priorities, and success criteria.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage engineering projects from initiation through completion.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- Prepare and present project updates, reports, and documentation to stakeholders.
- Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and services for projects.
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and forecast financial requirements.
- Resolve technical and operational issues to maintain project timelines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within engineering and operational processes.
- Ensure projects comply with safety standards, engineering codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
