The Wallet, Payments & Commerce (WPC) Card/Savings PMO team is looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to drive Apple Card & Savings projects. We deliver integrated system solutions for Apple Card and Savings and work closely with multiple stakeholders, Product, Engineering, Legal, Security, and others within Apple as well as external partners. We live in a fast-paced matrix organization where you will need to scope and prepare projects from the beginning across multiple teams, handle documentation, effectively communicate project status, manage project risk, and drive continuous improvement. The Engineering Project Manager thrives in complexity, leading cross-functional initiatives from concept through delivery. Blending technical depth with operational rigor and strong internal and external stakeholders management, this role ensures teams stay aligned, focused, and on track to deliver high-quality outcomes against business priorities. This is a fast-paced workplace where individual drive, innovation, and team collaboration are the keys to success. You have unshakable integrity and are as comfortable speaking to executives in open forums as you are with discussing bugs with a team member.
Responsibilities:
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and success criteria in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders
- Drive large-scale technical programs, including roadmap definition, planning, and delivery execution
- Manage dependencies across internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment and accountability throughout the lifecycle
- Partner with engineering teams to manage end-to-end delivery through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), with a focus on customer-facing financial products and services
- Actively participate in and facilitate technical design discussions, bringing program context and ensuring alignment between design decisions and delivery outcomes
- Identify risks, trade-offs, and interdependencies early; drive mitigation strategies and informed decision-making
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment and influence stakeholders, including senior leadership, to drive programs forward
- Make effective, timely decisions by balancing risks and benefits while managing multiple concurrent priorities & maintaining momentum even as direction evolves
- Operate with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, delivering results with minimal oversight
- Using presentation, oral and written communication skills, able to effectively communicate with various audiences and levels both internally and externally
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject area, or we may consider equivalent industry experience
- 10+ years of Technical and Cross-Functional Project and/or Program Management experience
- 6+ years of leading cross-functional projects, specifically managing dependencies across internal and external partners, and owning the end-to-end project delivery
- 6+ years of driving complex technical programs, defining roadmaps, identifying and mitigating risks, securing multi-functional alignment, and implementing delivery processes
- 3+ recent years of leading an engineering team through the SDLC of a customer facing product, ideally within the data, analytics, payments and/or financial technology space
- Results oriented, highly motivated and able to work under minimal supervision in a cross-functional environment at detailed levels whilst taking account of interdependencies at higher levels
- Experience and ease interacting with and influencing partners and senior executive leadership, push projects and programs forward
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to participate in and facilitate technical design brainstorming sessions
- Able to build a positive relationship with cross-functional internal organizations. Navigate and execute in an environment of ambiguity and lead project teams to the successful delivery of solutions
- Have inherent passion to lead, mentor and grow other EPMs in our PMO team
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $305,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
