Respiratory Therapist Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a respiratory therapist job in Indianapolis?
Indianapolis hiring is driven by its large hospital networks, long-term acute care hospitals, and a growing home health sector, so targeting those employer types gives you the strongest footing. Candidates with neonatal or pediatric critical care experience stand out at children's and level-one trauma centers. Picking up ACLS and NPS credentials before applying sharpens your profile for the ICU and NICU roles that dominate Indianapolis postings.
Which companies hire respiratory therapists in Indianapolis?
Companies currently hiring respiratory therapists in Indianapolis include Ascension, Indiana University Health, and VieMed, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indianapolis employers range from large academic medical systems and community hospital networks to specialty long-term acute care and home respiratory providers serving the broader central Indiana region.

Yes, but only for a narrow slice of roles, since most respiratory therapist work is hands-on and requires direct patient contact. About 0% of respiratory therapist openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which reflects the patient-facing nature of the field. The roles most likely to carry remote or hybrid components in Indianapolis are telehealth respiratory consultations and clinical education or training coordinator positions.
How can I get a respiratory therapist job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Indianapolis is applying for CRT-level or staff therapist openings at community hospitals and long-term acute care facilities, which tend to hire new graduates more readily than the large academic centers. Indianapolis home health agencies also take on newer therapists for lower-acuity caseloads.
