Risk Manager Jobs in Los Angeles: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a risk manager job in Los Angeles?
Focus your search on Los Angeles's densest hiring sectors: financial services firms in Century City and Downtown, large healthcare systems in the Westside and Mid-Wilshire corridor, and entertainment and media companies throughout the metro. Candidates with experience in enterprise risk, operational risk, or regulatory compliance tend to move fastest. A background in one of those dominant local industries, combined with a relevant certification such as FRM or CRM, gives you a concrete edge in this market.
Which companies hire risk managers in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles risk manager roles are posted by Grant Thornton, Fox Corporation, and Latham & Watkins LLP and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The hiring base is broad, ranging from regional banks and insurance carriers in Downtown to large hospital networks and studio-affiliated finance teams throughout the metro.
Are there remote risk manager jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, though availability depends on the type of work: analytical and compliance-focused risk roles tend to offer more flexibility, while operational or on-site risk positions rarely do. About 28% of risk manager openings tied to Los Angeles are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting a mix across the market. Roles tied to financial modeling, policy development, and reporting are most likely to allow remote arrangements locally.
How can I get a risk manager job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Los Angeles is through a risk analyst or compliance analyst role at a regional bank, insurance company, or large healthcare system, all of which hire junior candidates more consistently than corporate or entertainment-sector employers. Firms in Downtown and the Koreatown corridor often post entry-level analyst openings. A relevant certification, internship at a Los Angeles financial institution, or lateral move from audit or finance within the same organization are the most direct ways to build your local profile.
Which industries hire the most risk managers in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles risk manager roles concentrate in Banking & Financial Services, Accounting & Auditing, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Los Angeles's position as a major financial center, one of the largest healthcare markets in the country, and the global hub of entertainment and media drives consistent demand across all three sectors.
