Sales Manager Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales manager job in Chicago?
Focus your search on Chicago's strongest hiring sectors: enterprise software and SaaS firms clustered in the Loop and River North, healthcare and medical device companies on the North Side, and industrial and manufacturing distributors based in the suburbs and along the I-88 corridor. Candidates who show a history of quota attainment, experience managing a team, and familiarity with Chicago's B2B or healthcare buyer landscape move fastest through local hiring pipelines.
Which companies hire sales managers in Chicago?
Companies currently hiring sales managers in Chicago include AutoZone, Uber, and Braze, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters, fast-growing SaaS companies, and regional healthcare systems means demand comes from a wide range of employer sizes and industries.
Are there remote sales manager jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though remote options are more limited for sales managers than for purely desk-based roles, since many positions require leading in-person teams, attending client meetings, or working a defined territory. About 47% of sales manager openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the remote share highest in SaaS and inside-sales-focused organizations headquartered downtown.
How can I get a sales manager job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is moving up from a senior individual-contributor sales role at a local employer, since most Chicago companies promote their top account executives into management before hiring externally. Inside-sales teams at Chicago-based SaaS and fintech firms regularly develop first-time managers through structured programs, and regional distributors in the suburbs often promote territory reps into team-lead roles as a stepping stone to full management titles.
Which industries hire the most sales managers in Chicago?
Most sales manager openings in Chicago sit in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Manufacturing, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's role as a Midwest hub for financial services, healthcare systems, and enterprise technology creates consistent pipeline demand that keeps those sectors the steadiest sources of local openings.
