Mid Level Security Consultant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level security consultant job?
Position your experience around ownership rather than support. Highlight engagements where you led assessments, wrote findings independently, or advised clients directly. Certifications like CISSP, CEH, or CISM strengthen your application, but concrete examples of scope and impact carry more weight. Tailor your resume to show the specific frameworks and environments each employer works in, such as cloud security, compliance, or penetration testing.
Which companies hire mid level security consultants?
Companies hiring mid level security consultants right now include Fellowship Health Resources, Google, and NetSPI, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including large consulting firms, managed security service providers, and enterprise organizations building out in-house security practices.
Are there remote mid level security consultant jobs?
Yes, though availability depends on the engagement type. About 84% of mid level security consultant openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with client-facing and advisory roles more likely to offer flexibility than hands-on infrastructure work. Consulting firms that serve distributed clients tend to post the highest share of remote openings at this level.
How do I move up to a mid level security consultant role?
Progressing from entry level means building depth, not just breadth. Focus on taking ownership of specific domains like vulnerability management, GRC, or cloud security rather than rotating across everything. Pursue a recognized certification, document measurable outcomes from your work, and seek out projects where you advise rather than execute. Consistent delivery with increasing scope is what signals readiness for mid level responsibility.
Which industries hire the most mid level security consultants?
Mid Level security consultant roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Consulting & Professional Services, and Accounting & Auditing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive demand because they operate under significant regulatory pressure, handle sensitive data at scale, or manage critical infrastructure that requires ongoing security oversight and third-party expertise.
