Security Operations Analyst Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a security operations analyst in Delaware?
Most security operations analyst roles in Delaware require a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or information technology, combined with an entry-level certification such as CompTIA Security+. Delaware has no state-issued license specific to this role, so employers rely on industry credentials and hands-on experience. Building practical skills through labs, capture-the-flag competitions, or an internship with a Wilmington financial institution or a Dover-area government contractor strengthens a candidacy considerably.
How much do security operations analysts make in Delaware?
Security operations analysts in Delaware earn a median of about $137,030 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $82,500 for the lowest 10% to over $184,990 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire security operations analysts in Delaware?
Employers hiring security operations analysts in Delaware right now include JPMorganChase, CSC, and Target, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of major financial institutions, insurance carriers, and pharmaceutical companies in the Wilmington and Newark corridors means sustained demand for this role regardless of broader market cycles.
Which Delaware cities have the most security operations analyst jobs?
The cities with the most security operations analyst openings in Delaware are Wilmington, Dover, and Newark. Wilmington drives the largest share of postings because it anchors Delaware's financial services and corporate headquarters sectors, while Newark and Dover generate steady demand through University of Delaware affiliates, state government agencies, and defense contractors with a presence in the capital region.
Are there remote security operations analyst jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of security operations analyst openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how naturally the role translates to remote work. Threat monitoring, alert triage, and SIEM analysis are the functions employers most readily offer remotely, while on-site requirements tend to cluster around roles that involve classified environments or hands-on network hardware.
How can I get hired as a security operations analyst in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a help desk or IT support role at a Wilmington bank, insurance company, or state agency, then moving laterally into a junior SOC analyst or security monitoring position. Large Delaware employers including financial institutions and healthcare networks occasionally post associate or entry-level analyst openings for candidates with a CompTIA Security+ certification and demonstrated lab or internship experience. Building a home lab, earning a GIAC entry credential, or completing a cybersecurity apprenticeship registered through Delaware's Division of Employment and Training strengthens an application against more experienced candidates.
Where can I find and apply to security operations analyst jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to security operations analyst jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current Delaware openings in one place. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
