Security Program Manager Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a security program manager in Arkansas?
The most direct path in Arkansas is combining a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information systems, or a related field with a professional certification such as CISSP or CISM, which Arkansas employers consistently treat as a baseline credential. Arkansas does not issue a state-specific license for this role, so certification through recognized bodies like ISC2 or ISACA carries the most weight. Candidates typically build toward the title by spending several years in security analyst, IT risk, or compliance coordinator roles at Arkansas healthcare systems, defense contractors, or retail technology operations.
Which companies hire security program managers in Arkansas?
Arkansas security program manager roles are posted by Walmart, Dillard's, and Allied Universal and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's mix of large retail headquarters, regional healthcare networks, and defense-adjacent contractors creates a diverse range of employers with ongoing security program management needs.
Which Arkansas cities have the most security program manager jobs?
Bentonville, Little Rock, and Arkansas account for the largest share of security program manager openings in Arkansas. Little Rock drives demand through state government agencies and UAMS, Fayetteville and Bentonville attract postings tied to Walmart's technology and supply chain operations, and Fort Smith sees openings connected to manufacturing and defense-adjacent employers with federal compliance requirements.
Are there remote security program manager jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 32% of security program manager openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based, policy-driven nature of program management work. Roles centered on governance, risk documentation, vendor assessments, and compliance reporting are the most likely to be offered remotely, while positions requiring on-site oversight of physical security operations or direct facility access tend to be in-person.
How can I get hired as a security program manager in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a security analyst or IT compliance associate at one of Arkansas's large healthcare systems, such as UAMS or Baptist Health, or with a defense contractor in the Fort Smith area that runs associate-level security programs for early-career candidates. Earning a CompTIA Security+ or equivalent entry-level certification before applying demonstrates readiness and is widely recognized by Arkansas employers as a substitute for years of experience. Lateral moves from IT helpdesk, network administration, or internal audit roles are also a common route because they build the technical and documentation foundation security program management requires.
Where can I find and apply to security program manager jobs in Arkansas?
You can find and apply to security program manager jobs in Arkansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arkansas openings in one place. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
