GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is an interdependent member of the analytics community who helps build a data driven culture within the Henry Ford Health and Health Alliance Plan. Working cross collaboratively, the Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst gathers data, generates reports, and provides actionable interpretation of information to customers. They are comfortable and effective working with and presenting information to customers at all levels, including but not limited to executives, physicians, clinical staff, peers, and external oversight/regulatory bodies. They develop comprehensive routine and ad-hoc reports and implement new or improved reporting processes to support strategic goals or key operations. The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst fulfills complex requests, works effectively with ambiguity, manages deadlines, and maintains timeliness and quality of delivery. They anticipate and can quickly adapt to evolving needs of the customer. They consistently demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills while maintaining keen attention to detail.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tells a story with data insights that is clear and discerning to help leaders make actionable decisions.
- Works collaboratively with leaders and teams to understand how data solutions can make a positive impact; consults, designs metrics and reports, and builds solutions as needed.
- Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing report procedures and develops strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
- Documents process flows and ensures they are monitored for accuracy and quality.
- Provides end-user training on existing tools.
- Routinely participates in webinars and other educational resources to enhance understanding of current developments in healthcare environment.
- Generates suggestions for improving work efficiency and promoting quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
- Applies statistical concepts and relays findings, resulting in actionable information.
- Serves as a liaison between Analytics and Business leaders.
- Self-manage project and timelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Applied Science, required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a healthcare or business setting.
- Proficient in the use of Enterprise Databases (structured, hierarchical, unstructured, Object-Oriented) or shared data repository.
- Proficient in working with data to solve tangible business problems using tools like SQL, R or Python programming languages, data visualization software, and statistical analysis.
- Expert in the use of BI tools and report building, (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, Alteryx, or a similar tool).
- Proficient in the uses of Microsoft Office products; including Excel and Power Point.
- Skilled at presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of advanced computer programming concepts preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI or another BI tool (HAP and Henry Ford Health primarily uses Microsoft Tools) preferred.
- Manage and maintain code repositories, familiar with merging, pushing, pulling, branching, staging and code commenting preferred.
- Skilled at presenting complex information to diverse audiences preferred.
- Able to develop multidimensional semantic layer and analytics query objects for end-users preferred.
- Proven customer service experience with strong active listening skills preferred.
