Carlton Edwards is seeking an accomplished and creative Senior Interior Designer to join our growing design team. This role is ideal for a design-driven professional with a strong passion for interior architecture, a refined design sensibility, and the leadership skills to guide projects from concept through completion. The successful candidate will bring proven experience, creative vision, and a collaborative approach to delivering thoughtful, innovative design solutions that reflect our studio’s commitment to design excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of interior design concepts, space planning, and design solutions that align with project goals, client vision, and architectural intent.
• Oversee the preparation and coordination of design presentations, renderings, construction documents, and interior detailing.
• Lead the selection and specification of interior materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, fixtures, and furnishings.
• Develop compelling design presentations, material palettes, and finish boards to communicate design intent to clients and project teams.
• Collaborate closely with project architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of interior design with overall architectural design.
• Manage interior design deliverables, schedules, budgets, and project milestones from concept development through construction and installation.
• Conduct site visits, field measurements, and construction observations to evaluate progress, resolve design-related issues, and ensure alignment with design intent.
• Review shop drawings, material samples, submittals, and specifications for consistency with the design vision and project requirements.
• Mentor and guide junior designers, providing direction, feedback, and support throughout the design and documentation process.
• Research emerging design trends, innovative materials, products, and industry best practices to inform creative and technically sound design solutions.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, specifications, and organized digital project files.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
• 7 years of professional experience in an interior design or architecture firm, with demonstrated responsibility for project design and delivery.
• Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Claude, and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with additional visualization and documentation tools is a plus.
• Strong understanding of interior architecture, space planning, materiality, detailing, and construction documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead design development, manage multiple project priorities, and deliver high-quality work within established schedules and budgets.
• Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to balance creative vision with technical requirements, project constraints, and constructability.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to take ownership of projects, exercise sound judgment, and contribute to a collaborative studio culture.
