Senior Devops Engineer Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior devops engineer job in Seattle?
Focus on Seattle's dominant hiring sectors: cloud services, e-commerce, enterprise SaaS, and gaming. The strongest candidates combine hands-on Kubernetes and Terraform experience with familiarity in AWS or Azure, both of which are deeply embedded in Seattle's tech stack. Targeting mid-size SaaS companies in South Lake Union or the Eastside alongside the large cloud platforms gives you the widest range of openings and the best shot at a competitive offer.
Which companies hire senior devops engineers in Seattle?
Employers hiring senior devops engineers in Seattle right now include Google, Amazon Web Services, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Seattle's hiring pool runs from global cloud and e-commerce giants to fast-growing SaaS startups and established enterprise software firms, many headquartered or with major engineering hubs in the city.
Are there remote senior devops engineer jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though many roles require at least some on-site presence for infrastructure work, incident response, and cross-team collaboration. About 36% of senior devops engineer openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting strong demand from distributed cloud and SaaS teams. Fully remote positions tend to concentrate in platform engineering and CI/CD pipeline roles where day-to-day work is code-driven.
How can I get a senior devops engineer job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Seattle is landing a junior site reliability engineer or cloud operations role at one of the city's many mid-size SaaS or e-commerce companies, which regularly hire engineers willing to grow into automation and infrastructure work. Building a portfolio on AWS or Azure, earning an associate-level cloud certification, and contributing to open-source projects strengthens applications considerably. Seattle's deep tech community also runs meetups and mentorship programs that connect early-career candidates directly with hiring engineers.
Which industries hire the most senior devops engineers in Seattle?
The sectors hiring the most senior devops engineers in Seattle are Technology & Software, Artificial Intelligence, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Seattle's identity as a global cloud and e-commerce hub means those industries generate a disproportionate share of local devops demand, pulling in engineers who can scale distributed systems and automate complex deployment pipelines.
