As a Sr. Analyst, Payroll, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for multiple Baxter manufacturing sites in Puerto Rico. You will maintain payroll and timekeeping systems, support compliance requirements, perform payroll analyses, and partner closely with Human Resources, Finance, and plant leadership to deliver exceptional employee support and operational excellence.

Your Team

Baxter's Human Resources and Payroll teams play a critical role in delivering a seamless employee experience while ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. As part of the team, you will collaborate with HR, Finance, Operations, and other key stakeholders to support payroll activities, labor reporting, budgeting processes, and employee inquiries across multiple manufacturing facilities.

What You'll Be Doing

• Maintain payroll and timekeeping systems (Workday and Kronos) with accurate employee information, schedules, and related data.
• Review, validate, and process employee timecard transactions, including punch corrections, exceptions, and payroll adjustments.
• Process payroll adjustments for absences, paid time off, compensation changes, and other payroll-related transactions.
• Authorize and process overtime transactions in accordance with established guidelines and supervisor approvals.
• Execute weekly payroll closing activities and ensure timely payroll transmission for employee payment processing.
• Process salary adjustments and on-demand employee compensation changes accurately and within required timelines.
• Prepare and analyze payroll reports, including absenteeism, overtime, meal periods, labor projections, and other management reports.
• Support month-end close activities, including payroll journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Conduct payroll deduction audits and ensure payroll data accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze the financial impact of compensation programs, restructuring initiatives, benefits, incentives, and other workforce-related programs.
• Monitor HR and administrative budgets, track expenditures, and provide reporting to support financial planning activities.
• Process and submit invoices accurately and according to established timelines.
• Partner with managers and employees to resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues while ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Support HR projects, initiatives, and special programs as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and maintain strong internal controls.
• Support Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives by identifying workplace hazards, participating in inspections, and following applicable procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee information and adhere to all data privacy requirements.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in Payroll, Accounting, or a related function.
• Experience working with payroll and timekeeping systems such as Workday, Kronos, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of payroll regulations, accounting principles, and internal control requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience preparing payroll reports, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
