Senior Quality Manager Jobs in South Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior quality manager in South Carolina?
The path typically starts with a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a closely related field, followed by several years in quality roles such as quality engineer or quality supervisor. South Carolina does not require a state-issued license for quality managers, but employers across the state's automotive, aerospace, and medical device sectors consistently expect credentials like the American Society for Quality's Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence or Certified Quality Engineer designation before promoting into senior leadership.
How much do senior quality managers make in South Carolina?
Senior quality managers in South Carolina earn a median of about $126,880 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,510 for the lowest 10% to over $204,910 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior quality managers in South Carolina?
South Carolina senior quality manager roles are posted by Yanfeng, BD, and ZF and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. South Carolina's deep base of automotive and aerospace manufacturers means senior quality roles appear regularly across both Tier 1 suppliers and major OEM operations throughout the Upstate and Lowcountry regions.
Which South Carolina cities have the most senior quality manager jobs?
Charleston, Greenville, and Fountain Inn have the most senior quality manager openings in South Carolina. Greenville anchors the Upstate's dense automotive and advanced manufacturing corridor, where BMW, Michelin, and their supplier networks generate steady demand, while Charleston's aerospace presence driven by Boeing and its supply chain sustains consistent openings, and Columbia draws roles through its medical device, defense, and state government-adjacent manufacturing operations.
Are there remote senior quality manager jobs in South Carolina?
Yes, but they're rare. About 50% of senior quality manager openings tied to South Carolina are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how fundamentally hands-on the role is in manufacturing-heavy states like South Carolina. When remote or hybrid arrangements do appear, they are most common in corporate quality systems, supplier auditing coordination, or multi-site quality program oversight rather than plant-floor leadership roles.
How can I get hired as a senior quality manager in South Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into quality from an adjacent manufacturing role such as production supervisor, process engineer, or manufacturing technician at one of South Carolina's large automotive or aerospace employers. BMW Manufacturing, Boeing South Carolina, and Michelin operate structured development programs that allow internal candidates to rotate into quality functions. Earning an ASQ Certified Quality Technician or Quality Process Analyst credential while working in operations signals readiness and helps candidates transition into formal quality roles that build toward senior leadership.
Where can I find and apply to senior quality manager jobs in South Carolina?
You can find and apply to senior quality manager jobs in South Carolina on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and target location, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
