New York's dense financial and healthcare sectors reward administrators who gain experience in regulated, high-availability environments before moving into senior positions.
How much do senior systems administrators make in New York?
Senior systems administrators in New York earn a median of about $105,810 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $69,930 for the lowest 10% to over $166,810 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.

Which New York cities have the most senior systems administrator jobs?
