They will also own day-to-day design updates to our websites in HubSpot and WordPress, keeping page layouts on brand and current.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish the look and feel of the Greater Good Charities brand across every channel we use, from print and direct mail to web, email, social, and events.
- Serve as day-to-day steward of the brand: maintain and extend our brand guidelines, answer usage questions from staff, and review outgoing materials for consistency across teams.
- Support the digital marketing team with graphic design requests across social media, ads, email. This includes designing email templates, social media graphics, custom ads across paid social and programmatic, etc.
- Design and produce print collateral for teams across the organization, including direct mail, brochures, one-pagers, event signage and banners, and report layouts. Prepare press-ready files to vendor specifications and manage proofing with print partners.
- Manage our suite of templates across channels to ensure they are easily editable and are occasionally updated based on performance and to avoid creative fatigue.
- Create brand identities and supporting graphics for larger campaigns that fit within the digital marketing calendar.
- Ensure all templates, documents, and graphics meet Greater Good Charities’ brand standards and designs.
- Support the advancement and corporate partnerships teams with requests for communicating with their respective audiences, including newsletters, PowerPoints, direct mailers, etc.
- Support the programmatic team with design requests for events and promotions such as flyers, presentations, newsletters, etc.
- Own day-to-day updates to our websites in HubSpot and WordPress: build and update page layouts, landing pages, and campaign pages so the site stays on brand and current.
- Partner with the Director of Marketing Operations and Director of Donor Experience on site UX so the donor journey stays clear and seamless, and work alongside agency partners on larger builds.
- Work with the Director of Performance Marketing to track and analyze site traffic analytics, page performance metrics, and user behavior to make decisions on the UX and design of the website and other creative.
- Manage and update website code (simple HTML/CSS) as needed to ensure elements are functioning properly, cookies and cookie banners are appropriate displayed and captured, and tags are correctly placed to track user behavior.
- Manage pixels for each advertising platform using Google Tag Manager, ensuring that tags are working correctly.
Minimum Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in advertising, design, or a relevant degree.
- 2-5 years of experience in graphic design or in-house creative, ideally in a marketing or nonprofit setting, with at least 2 years’ experience working in graphic design for both print and digital, plus hands-on experience making layout updates in a CMS.
- Creative mindset, able to take creative briefs and translate them into effective, mature designs.
- Understanding of creative needs for each print and digital channel and how to analyze the creative’s performance.
- Strong typography, layout, and color judgment, with a portfolio showing work inside an established brand system rather than around it.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Adobe Express.
- Print production experience, including preparing press-ready files (CMYK and spot color, bleed and trim, resolution) and working with print vendors on proofs.
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS required, with knowledge of Hubl and WordPress templating (theme editor, page builders) highly preferred.
- Must have experience working within both HubSpot CMS and WordPress, including building and editing page layouts in each. Experience with HubSpot-hosted email and CRM assets is a plus.

Tips for Your Senior Web Designer Job Search
Tailor your portfolio to the role type
Agency roles reward visual range and brand versatility, while in-house roles want depth in one product or system. Curate your portfolio to three to five pieces that match the company type you're targeting before you apply.
Showcase design system contributions explicitly
Most senior web designer postings expect hands-on work with or ownership of a design system. Call out your specific contributions, whether you built components, defined token structures, or led documentation, rather than listing tools alone.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists senior web designer openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Read job descriptions for implicit seniority signals
Postings that mention cross-functional leadership, stakeholder presentations, or mentoring junior designers expect senior-level soft skills, not just craft. Address those expectations directly in your cover letter with a concrete example from past work.
Prepare a design critique walkthrough for interviews
Many senior web designer interviews include a live critique of your work or a take-home redesign challenge. Practice explaining your decision-making out loud, especially trade-offs you made between visual polish, accessibility, and technical constraints.
Negotiate scope before accepting a title bump
A senior title without influence over the design process or access to research can stall your career. In final-round conversations, ask who you report to, how design decisions are made, and whether you'll have time for strategic work beyond executional tasks.
Senior Web Designer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most senior web designers?
The companies hiring the most senior web designers right now include Bruno, Major League Baseball, and Major League Baseball (MLB), with the largest share of openings in New York, California, and Texas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Industries with consistent demand include e-commerce, healthcare technology, and financial services.
How many senior web designer jobs are remote?
About 56% of senior web designer openings are fully remote or hybrid as of August 2026, making it one of the more location-flexible creative roles at this seniority level. Roles focused on design systems, UX strategy, and digital product design tend to skew more remote than those requiring frequent stakeholder or brand collaboration on-site.
How do you become a senior web designer?
Reaching a senior web designer level typically requires building a portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end ownership of complex projects, not just executional output. You'll need to develop fluency in design systems, show cross-functional collaboration with engineering and product, and take on projects where you drove decisions rather than implemented directions given by others. Mentoring junior designers and presenting work to non-design stakeholders also signals readiness for senior roles.
How do you get hired as a senior web designer with limited senior-level experience?
If your title has been mid-level but your responsibilities have been senior, reframe your portfolio around outcomes and decisions rather than deliverables. Highlight projects where you led the design direction, collaborated with engineers on implementation, or shaped a component library. Applying to growth-stage companies or agencies, where scope often exceeds title, gives you room to demonstrate senior-level thinking before the title catches up.
What does the senior web designer interview process look like?
Most senior web designer interview processes include a portfolio review, a design exercise or take-home challenge, and a series of conversations with design leadership, product managers, and sometimes engineering leads. You'll typically be asked to walk through your design process, explain trade-offs you've made, and discuss how you've worked within or contributed to a design system. Soft skills around feedback, cross-functional communication, and prioritization come up regularly at the senior level.
Where can I find and apply to senior web designer jobs?
You can find and apply to senior web designer jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from companies across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience and specialization, then apply directly to each one that fits. There's no need to go through a recruiter or a separate application system.
