INTRODUCTION
We invite you to join us in making a significant impact on the early detection of hearing loss in newborns by becoming a Newborn Hearing Screen Site Supervisor. As a Site Supervisor, you will play a vital role in overseeing the Newborn Hearing Screen program at multiple sites within your region.
Responsibilities
The Site Supervisor is primarily responsible for the direct delivery of newborn hearing screening services and spends the required time actively performing and documenting hearing screenings. This role serves as the on-site technical lead, ensuring high-quality screening practices, supporting real-time workflow needs. Administrative responsibilities are limited and focused on immediate, site-level operational support.
Screening:
- The Site Supervisor maintains accountability to ensure that all eligible babies are screened.
- Perform newborn hearing screenings in accordance with clinical protocols and hospital requirements, which may include weekends and holidays as needed.
- Meet screening expectations set by Hearing Screen Manager.
- Inform Hearing Screen Managers immediately of any hospital issues or missed babies.
- Where appropriate, be the primary point of contact with parents and ensure scheduling of all follow-up Outpatient appointments.
Staffing & Scheduling:
- Create schedules to ensure adequate coverage to meet hospital obligations and program requirements, escalate staffing gaps or concerns to the Hearing Screen Manager.
- Review timecards and approve time off requests.
- Participate in Hearing Screen Technician interviews and hiring, as directed by the Hearing Screen Manager.
- Supervise Hearing Screen Technicians and conduct performance evaluations on all technicians annually.
Training:
- Train all new hires and ensure continued training for current team members as well as monitor KPI’s (key performance indicators) and review with team during monthly staff meetings.
- Complete Company and Hospital requirements, including Orientation and Compliance modules as needed.
- Provide real-time technical guidance and support to screening staff, identify and escalate concerns or deviations in protocol.
Contract & Employee Relations:
- Ensure consistent regular onsite visits, meet with hospital leadership including presenting reports.
- Address team member and hospital concerns to ensure team members are meeting performance expectations.
- Maintain screener TB/CPR/training requirements while being credentialed at a minimum of all locations supervised.
- Comply with all company and facility policies and procedures including, but not limited to, appropriate PPE, required vaccinations and other safety/security protocols, Company and Hospital Orientations and annual compliance modules.
Reporting & Data Management:
- Supervise daily state reporting for all team members and, where designated, complete and present all state and hospital reporting per state guidelines.
- Monitor and review Medical Sponsor reports and timely submission by physician sponsor, to ensure adherence to Medical Sponsor Policy.
- Review and reconcile birth stats monthly utilizing resources as appropriate to resolve any questions/concerns prior to deadlines.
- Monitor Power BI reports for site and Hearing Screen Technician (HST) efficiencies and address as needed.
Supplies & Equipment:
- Monitor equipment check list weekly and ensure no parts are swapped out without contacting NATUS.
Other Duties:
- The Site Supervisor will perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.
Experience
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a manager or combination of training and experience.
- Prior experience with newborns and/or in a healthcare setting.
- 1-2 years managing multiple sites (preferred).
SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to manage high stress in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.
- Ability to lift, carry, push/pull up to 50 lbs.
