Site Supervisor Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a site supervisor in Texas?
Most site supervisors in Texas move into the role after several years in a skilled trade or field coordinator position, with general contractors typically requiring hands-on construction experience rather than a state-issued license for the supervisor title itself. Earning an OSHA 30-Hour Construction certificate strengthens your candidacy significantly, and some employers in Texas prefer candidates who hold a First Aid or CPR credential. A two-year or four-year degree in construction management is an advantage for larger commercial firms, though many Texas companies promote internally from foreman or lead technician roles.
How much do site supervisors make in Texas?
Site supervisors in Texas earn a median of about $74,520 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $48,000 for the lowest 10% to over $109,460 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire site supervisors in Texas?
Employers hiring site supervisors in Texas right now include Austin Independent School District, Alliance Technical, and GDI Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's large energy infrastructure and commercial development sectors mean hiring stays active year-round, with particularly strong demand from general contractors and industrial maintenance firms.
Which Texas cities have the most site supervisor jobs?
Austin, Dublin, and Farmers Branch have the most site supervisor openings in Texas. Houston's energy corridor and port infrastructure drive the highest volume, while Dallas supports large commercial and mixed-use development, and San Antonio's military installations and healthcare construction keep a steady pipeline of openings across all three markets.
Are there remote site supervisor jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Site supervision is fundamentally an on-site role requiring physical presence to manage crews, inspect work, and enforce safety protocols. About 6% of site supervisor openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions typically involve project coordination, reporting, or pre-construction planning functions rather than active field oversight.
How can I get hired as a site supervisor in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a field laborer, carpenter's apprentice, or construction coordinator with a Texas general contractor and moving into a lead or foreman role before targeting supervisor titles. Large Texas employers like Hensel Phelps and DPR Construction run structured craft training programs that develop field leaders from the ground up. Earning your OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification before applying gives your resume a concrete edge, and applying to assistant site supervisor or project engineer roles at mid-size Texas regional contractors is often faster than targeting the largest firms first.
Where can I find and apply to site supervisor jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to site supervisor jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings from employers actively hiring. Search the listings, find roles that match your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
