QA Analyst Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a qa analyst in Texas?
Most qa analyst roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, though some employers accept an associate degree paired with a strong portfolio. Texas has no state-issued license for qa analysts, so the path focuses on building technical skills and earning widely recognized certifications such as the ISTQB Foundation Level, which Texas employers regularly list as preferred. Entry candidates who can demonstrate hands-on experience through personal projects, bootcamps, or internships at Texas tech firms move faster through hiring pipelines.
How much do QA analysts make in Texas?
QA analysts in Texas earn a median of about $101,850 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,010 for the lowest 10% to over $153,380 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire qa analysts in Texas?
Employers hiring qa analysts in Texas right now include Apple, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Houston Methodist, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's large concentration of defense, semiconductor, and healthcare IT companies means qa analyst demand stays consistent year-round rather than spiking seasonally.
Which Texas cities have the most qa analyst jobs?
Austin, Plano, and Dallas have the most qa analyst openings in Texas. Austin's dense cluster of software companies and tech headquarters drives the highest volume, while Dallas benefits from a broad mix of fintech, telecom, and enterprise software employers, and Houston's energy-sector technology divisions and medical center IT teams add consistent demand beyond the two major tech corridors.
Are there remote qa analyst jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 19% of qa analyst openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the role involves writing test scripts, reviewing requirements, and filing defect reports in shared digital tools. Fully remote positions are most common in automation-heavy and software-focused roles, while QA positions tied to embedded systems, hardware validation, or regulated medical devices typically require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a qa analyst in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to associate QA analyst or QA technician roles at large Texas technology employers, where structured onboarding programs ease candidates into test execution before moving them into automation. Companies in the Austin software corridor and Dallas fintech sector regularly hire recent graduates into junior QA positions, and lateral moves from technical support, business analysis, or manual testing roles are common. Earning the ISTQB Foundation Level certification and building a GitHub portfolio of sample test scripts gives a candidate a concrete edge over other applicants without formal QA experience.
Where can I find and apply to qa analyst jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to qa analyst jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state right now. Find roles that fit your experience and specialization and apply directly to each one.
