About Melleka Marketing
Melleka Marketing is a full-service marketing agency helping businesses grow through social media, digital advertising, content creation, web design, SEO, and more.
This is a hands-on creative role for someone who is not only highly organized, but also has strong video editing and graphic design skills. We want someone who knows how to turn raw footage and ideas into dynamic, entertaining, scroll-stopping content — not just basic cuts and transitions.
You'll be responsible for taking content from idea to creation to scheduled post, including video editing, graphics, carousels, story content, captions, and scheduling.
This is a full-time, in-person position. Please apply only if you are able to reliably commute to our office Monday through Friday.
What You'll Do
- Manage social media content for approximately 20 client accounts
- Create and schedule approximately 3 posts per week, per client across LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, & Facebook (approximately 60 posts per week total)
- Create short-form videos, long-form YouTube videos, static graphics, carousels, story posts, and other social media content
- Edit raw video footage into highly engaging, dynamic, and entertaining videos designed to hold attention
- Incorporate advanced editing elements such as 3D text overlays, motion graphics, animated captions, sound effects, music, transitions, zooms, visual effects, B-roll, and other attention-grabbing elements
- Design static posts, story graphics, multi-slide carousels, promotional graphics, and branded social media content
- Use GoHighLevel to schedule and organize client social media posts
- Maintain organized content calendars and ensure posts are created, approved, and scheduled on time
- Manage multiple client deadlines, revisions, and content needs simultaneously
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is both highly creative and extremely organized. Managing approximately 20 clients requires the ability to work efficiently, stay ahead of deadlines, and quickly switch between different brands, industries, and creative styles.
Video editing is a major part of this position. We are specifically looking for someone who can create content that feels modern, fast-paced, polished, and entertaining.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Previous social media management or content creation experience
- Strong short-form and long-form video editing skills
- A portfolio demonstrating dynamic, engaging video editing — not just basic cuts and captions
- Experience creating Instagram Reels, TikToks, and other vertical video content
- Strong graphic design skills with the ability to create static posts, carousels, stories, and other branded social graphics
- Ability to manage a high volume of content and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience with GoHighLevel is a plus
- Experience with tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar editing/design software
How to Apply
Please email your resume and portfolio/examples of social media content you've created to lexie@mellekamarketing.com with subject line: Social Media Manager [Your Name].
If you have examples of short-form videos, Reels, TikToks, graphics, or social media accounts you've managed, we'd love to see them.

Social Media Content Creator Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a social media content creator in California?
California does not require a state license to work as a social media content creator, so the path runs through education and a strong portfolio. Most California employers expect at minimum a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, though some accept equivalent demonstrated experience. Building a public body of work on platforms like TikTok or Instagram and completing brand or agency internships in Los Angeles or the Bay Area are the most effective ways to enter the market.
Which companies hire social media content creators in California?
California social media content creator roles are posted by Upper Deck, Agua Caliente Casinos, and KWSM and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. California's density of entertainment studios, tech companies, and consumer brands makes it one of the most consistent hiring markets in the country for this role.
Which California cities have the most social media content creator jobs?
Los Angeles, San Diego, and Beverly Hills lead California for social media content creator openings. Los Angeles dominates because of its entertainment and influencer marketing industries, San Francisco and the Bay Area draw demand from large tech platforms and SaaS companies, and San Diego has a growing cluster of direct-to-consumer and lifestyle brands that maintain active content teams.
Are there remote social media content creator jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 37% of social media content creator openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how naturally the work translates to distributed teams. Strategy, copywriting, and analytics-focused creator roles tend to be the most remote-friendly, while positions involving on-site shoots or live event coverage typically require in-person availability.
How can I get hired as a social media content creator in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a content coordinator or social media assistant role at a California-based agency or consumer brand, where on-the-job training is standard. Large Los Angeles entertainment companies and Bay Area tech firms frequently hire junior creators through internship-to-hire pipelines. Building a focused portfolio on one or two platforms, completing a Google Digital Marketing certificate, and applying to associate content roles at California-headquartered retailers or media companies are the moves that consistently lead to first jobs in this field.
Where can I find and apply to social media content creator jobs in California?
You can find and apply to social media content creator jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your experience and location, and apply directly to whichever positions fit.
