Astro Coffee | Golden, CO
Part-Time | Approximately 8–10 Hours/Week
Pay: $22–$28/hour, based on experience
Astro Coffee is looking for a creative, experienced part-time Social Media Manager & Content Creator who is ready to take ownership of our social media presence and help us tell the story of where Astro is going next.
A Little About Us — And Why We're Hiring
In 2020, my fiancé and I put our heads together to create what has become Astro Coffee today.
We're a small, owner-operated business, and since day one, we've had our noses to the grindstone building this company from the ground up. We've been involved in just about every aspect of the business ourselves—from making coffee and working events to booking clients, building menus, managing operations, developing brand activations, marketing, creating content, answering emails, and figuring things out as we've grown.
For a long time, wearing all the hats was simply part of building Astro.
We're finally reaching a point where we can begin bringing the right people into dedicated roles and handing off pieces of the business that no longer need to live entirely on our plates.
Social media is one of those roles.
We're not looking for someone who needs us to come up with the content calendar, tell them what Reel to make, remind them that we haven't posted, send them trends to follow, or manage the creative process for them.
We want to hand you the keys to this part of our brand.
We want someone who can learn Astro, understand our voice and aesthetic, look at what we have happening, and take creative direction from there.
You should be able to see an upcoming event and think about how we should tell that story. You should be able to open a folder full of raw footage and B-roll and see the Reel hiding inside of it. You should know when there's a trend worth jumping on—and when something doesn't fit our brand.
We don't want to have to think about whether we've posted enough this week, what's trending, what audio we should be using, or how to turn yesterday's event footage into content.
That's what we're hiring you to own.
Taking this off our plates allows us to focus our energy on what needs us most: our clients, our team, the brand activations we're producing, and the bigger-picture growth of where we're taking Astro next.
If you're someone who loves being trusted with creative ownership and thrives when you're given the freedom to come up with the idea and execute it, you'll probably love this role.
The Role:
We already have the content - we need the right person to help us do something great with it.
Astro has an extensive and constantly growing library of professional photography, event footage, raw video, and B-roll. You'll have access to those assets and use them to create a consistent stream of polished, engaging content.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating approximately 4-5 high-quality pieces of social content per week, including Reels, posts, carousels, and short-form video
- Creating a regular posting schedule and content calendar
- Editing raw video footage and B-roll into polished, engaging Reels
- Editing and enhancing photography as needed
- Writing on-brand captions and calls to action
- Scheduling and publishing content
- Creating Instagram Stories using existing and current content
- Developing creative concepts and recurring content series
- Repurposing our existing library so great content doesn't get used once and forgotten
- Identifying relevant trends, audio, formats, and content opportunities without waiting for us to point them out
- Showcasing our coffee, team, mobile units, events, behind-the-scenes operations, partnerships, clients, and brand activations
- Working with photographers and videographers on what you need captured
- Strategically growing our following, reach, engagement, and brand awareness
- Reviewing basic analytics and using what's working to guide future content
- Helping make our social presence feel as exciting and polished as the company we're building in real life
Our goal isn't simply to post more.
We want social media to build the Astro Coffee brand, showcase the level of work we're producing, attract new clients and partnerships, support event bookings, and document the growth of the company.
Professional Editing Experience Is Important
We're specifically looking for someone who is comfortable editing outside of Instagram, TikTok, or other native social media tools.
Current Social Platforms:
Linkden
You should be able to receive a folder of raw footage, photos, and B-roll and independently turn those assets into finished content.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is strongly preferred, particularly:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Photoshop
- Lightroom
- After Effects and/or Illustrator are a plus
Experience with additional professional photo and video editing platforms is also welcome.
Who We're Looking For
You may be a great fit if you:
- Have previous social media management or content creation experience
- Have a strong portfolio of Reels and short-form video
- Understand how to create content that captures attention quickly
- Have professional photo and video editing experience
- Understand Instagram and current social media trends
- Have experience growing an organic social media following
- Have a strong eye for branding, composition, pacing, music, typography, and visual storytelling
- Can maintain a consistent brand aesthetic
- Are organized and self-directed
- Can manage your workload within approximately 8–10 hours per week
- Are comfortable making creative decisions independently
- Bring ideas to the table rather than waiting for us to tell you exactly what to make
- Are excited about joining a small business during a period of growth
We care a lot about initiative in this role.
If you need a detailed assignment for every post, this probably won't be the right fit.
If you love hearing, "Here's our brand, here's our content library, here's what's happening this month—run with it," we want to hear from you.
What This Role Is NOT
This isn't a 40-hour-a-week social media management position.
We're also not expecting you to constantly travel around Colorado filming content.
We already have a significant library of professional photography and video, and our team will continue collecting raw content from our events. Your primary role is to take those assets, identify the opportunities, and turn them into something great.
There may occasionally be opportunities to attend particularly exciting events or brand activations to capture content, but regular on-location photography or videography is not a primary requirement.
Schedule & Compensation
$22–$28/hour, depending on experience
We anticipate approximately 8–10 hours per week to start, with flexibility around when much of the work is completed.
This could be an excellent fit for a freelance content creator, marketing professional, creative student/graduate, or experienced social media professional looking to add a consistent part-time role to their schedule.
As Astro continues to grow, there is potential for this position and its responsibilities to grow with us.
To Apply
Please send us:
- Your resume
- A portfolio or examples of content you've personally created
- Examples of Reels or short-form videos you've personally edited
- Social media accounts you've managed, if applicable
- The editing programs you regularly use
- A brief description of your experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and editing raw video/B-roll
- Examples of accounts you've helped grow organically, if applicable
- A few sentences about why this particular role interests you
Please do not apply without examples of your previous creative work.
We're less concerned about finding someone with the perfect traditional resume and much more interested in seeing what you can create, how you think, and whether you're someone we can trust to take ownership of this part of Astro.

Social Media Content Creator Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a social media content creator in Colorado?
Colorado does not require a state-issued license to work as a social media content creator, so the path centers on building a portfolio and relevant credentials. Most Colorado employers look for a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, though equivalent portfolio work is widely accepted. Completing platform-specific certifications through Meta Blueprint or Google Digital Marketing can strengthen an application, and internship experience with Colorado-based brands accelerates hiring.
Which companies hire social media content creators in Colorado?
Companies currently hiring social media content creators in Colorado include Pidoxa, Life Time, and Livestage, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's strong outdoor, hospitality, and direct-to-consumer brand sector means content creator roles frequently appear at companies with lifestyle or tourism-driven marketing needs.
Which Colorado cities have the most social media content creator jobs?
Denver, Englewood, and Colorado account for the most social media content creator openings in Colorado. Denver drives the majority of demand as the state's largest corporate and startup hub, while Boulder's concentration of outdoor and wellness brands generates consistent openings, and Colorado Springs supports content roles tied to its military, tourism, and retail employer base.
Are there remote social media content creator jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 50% of social media content creator openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how naturally the work translates to digital collaboration. Content strategy, copywriting, and community management roles within this field are the most consistently offered on a fully remote basis.
How can I get hired as a social media content creator in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building a niche portfolio on one or two platforms before applying to coordinator or associate content roles at Colorado-based agencies or in-house teams. Denver's advertising and PR agencies regularly bring on junior creators, and Colorado's outdoor and lifestyle brands such as those headquartered along the Front Range often accept candidates from adjacent roles like graphic design assistant, email marketing coordinator, or community manager. A demonstrated ability to grow an account, even a personal one, carries significant weight in lieu of formal work history.
Where can I find and apply to social media content creator jobs in Colorado?
