Role Description
The Hardware Software Engineering Applications System Administrator is a contract, on-site role based in Richardson, TX. This role is responsible for administering and maintaining hardware and software systems that support engineering applications, including installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning. The System Administrator monitors system health, manages user accounts and access controls, and ensures reliable operation of Windows and other operating systems used in the engineering environment. Daily tasks include diagnosing and resolving technical issues, coordinating with engineering and IT teams to support application deployments, and documenting procedures, configurations, and incident resolutions. The role also involves implementing security best practices, performing regular backups, and contributing to continuous improvement of system reliability and support processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong System Administration skills, including configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of engineering-related infrastructure.
- Candidates should possess Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose, analyze, and resolve complex hardware, software, and application issues.
- Candidates should possess Operating Systems and Windows skills, including installation, patch management, and security hardening in enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting engineering or CAD/EDA applications and related hardware platforms is beneficial.
