About the Role
FairSquare is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented QA Engineer whose role extends well beyond finding bugs. You will be a trusted partner in delivery, the person who gives Engineering, Product, and the business confidence that what we ship is ready for our customers. You will contribute to product success through manual and automated testing, requirements analysis, test planning, and defect tracking. You will also build working fluency across all three tiers of our stack — the front-end UI, the middle-tier services and APIs, and the data layer. You will work side by side with Software Engineers, Salesforce Administrators, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to raise overall software quality, surface risk early, and provide a clear, evidence-based read on release readiness at every delivery milestone.
Major Responsibilities:
- Partner with Engineering, Product Management, and external teams to develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for new features across Salesforce applications and web front ends.
- Collaborate with Salesforce Admins, Business Analysts, development teams, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, ensure thorough test coverage, and confirm that deliverables meet business needs.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing within our Agile SDLC and CI/CD processes.
- Learn the workflows of our internal Salesforce platforms and external web apps, and verify supporting backend services on AWS
- Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools, and maintain and execute regression suites on an ongoing basis within the CI/CD pipeline.
- Use AI tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot to accelerate test authoring, code review, and QA process verification without sacrificing hands-on manual coverage.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in software quality assurance, spanning manual web and back-end API testing with QA best practices.
- 3+ years testing Salesforce Service Cloud, including web services and REST APIs.
- Experience using Postman for API testing, exploration, and response validation.
- Hands-on experience building API and UI test automation frameworks in Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Programming experience in object-oriented or scripting languages, such as JavaScript and Python.
- Ability to write basic SQL queries and independently prepare test data.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, TestRail, Browser Stack, and similar tools.
- Working knowledge of AWS, including validating Step Functions and Lambda functions as part of end-to-end test coverage.
- Strong experience in functional, system integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain defects and quality risks to engineering and business stakeholders.
- Willingness to act as the voice of quality for the products you support, advocating for coverage and standards across the team.

Software Quality Assurance Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a software quality assurance in Georgia?
The most direct path is earning a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or information technology, then building hands-on testing skills through internships or entry-level analyst roles. Georgia does not require a state-issued license for software quality assurance work. Industry certifications such as the ISTQB Foundation Level certificate are widely recognized by Georgia employers and strengthen early-career applications considerably. Large Atlanta-area tech and fintech employers frequently recruit directly from Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, and Kennesaw State University.
How much do software quality assurances make in Georgia?
Software quality assurances in Georgia earn a median of about $103,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $68,130 for the lowest 10% to over $141,760 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire software quality assurances in Georgia?
Employers hiring software quality assurances in Georgia right now include Knapp, USAN, and Flock, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's concentration of financial technology firms in Alpharetta, defense contractors near Marietta and Savannah, and healthcare IT companies across the Atlanta metro makes it one of the more active QA hiring markets in the Southeast.
Which Georgia cities have the most software quality assurance jobs?
Atlanta, Kennesaw, and Norcross account for the most software quality assurance openings in Georgia. Atlanta leads by a wide margin because it is home to the largest share of the state's technology, fintech, and healthcare IT employers, while Alpharetta's dense corridor of payment processing and financial software companies sustains strong QA demand, and Savannah's growing defense and logistics technology presence drives openings in that market.
Are there remote software quality assurance jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of software quality assurance openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based and tool-driven nature of most QA work. Automated testing, test case documentation, and code review tasks translate particularly well to fully remote arrangements, while roles requiring hands-on testing of physical devices or secure government systems are more likely to require an on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a software quality assurance in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is targeting QA analyst or junior tester roles at mid-size Atlanta-area software and fintech companies, which regularly hire candidates who can demonstrate foundational skills through a testing portfolio or coursework projects. Georgia Tech's College of Computing and Kennesaw State's QA-focused IT programs produce candidates employers recognize by name. Adjacent roles such as technical support analyst or business analyst offer lateral entry points. Earning the ISTQB Foundation Level certificate before applying gives candidates a concrete credential that offsets limited professional experience.
Where can I find and apply to software quality assurance jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to software quality assurance jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings across Atlanta, Alpharetta, Savannah, and beyond. Find the roles that fit your experience and specialization and apply directly.
