Strategy Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a strategy job in Chicago?
The strongest path into Chicago strategy roles runs through the city's major consulting firms, financial institutions, and corporate strategy teams at large consumer and healthcare companies headquartered downtown. Candidates with experience in market analysis, competitive intelligence, or business development stand out. Targeting employers in the Loop and Fulton Market, and building familiarity with Chicago's specific industry clusters, gives you a concrete edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire strategys in Chicago?
Companies currently hiring strategys in Chicago include DoorDash, Salesforce, and PwC, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Chicago's employer base skews toward large consulting firms, Fortune 500 corporate strategy teams, and fast-growing healthcare and fintech companies with Midwest headquarters.
Are there remote strategy jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though availability depends on the role. Strategy work that involves data modeling, market research, and presentation building tends to be remote-friendly, while roles requiring regular executive or cross-functional collaboration often stay hybrid or on-site. About 57% of strategy openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with corporate strategy and research-heavy roles leading that share.
How can I get a strategy job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a strategy operations or business analyst role at one of Chicago's large healthcare systems, consulting firms, or consumer goods companies, where structured rotational programs and analyst tracks are common. Targeting companies with formal early-career pipelines in the Loop or River North, building Excel and PowerPoint fluency, and pursuing Chicago-based MBA programs or case competitions can accelerate the transition into a dedicated strategy title.
Which industries hire the most strategys in Chicago?
Chicago strategy roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Chicago's deep roots in management consulting, its dense cluster of insurance and financial services firms, and its growing healthcare and food and beverage sector all drive consistent demand for strategy professionals across experience levels.
