Superintendent Jobs in Tempe: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a superintendent job in Tempe?
Focus on Tempe's active commercial construction scene, particularly along the Tempe Town Lake waterfront, the Mill Avenue corridor, and the ASU Research Park, where general contractors and development firms hire most. Candidates with hands-on experience in multifamily, mixed-use, or institutional projects stand out. A OSHA 30 certification and a history of completing projects on schedule in an urban infill environment gives you a real edge with Tempe employers.
Which companies hire superintendents in Tempe?
Companies currently hiring superintendents in Tempe include IES Communications, Okland Construction, and Truesdell, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tempe's hiring mix leans toward general contractors, commercial developers, and facilities management firms tied to the university district and the growing Tempe waterfront.
Are there remote superintendent jobs in Tempe?
Yes, though remote work is limited for superintendents given the hands-on, on-site nature of most roles. About 0% of superintendent openings tied to Tempe are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, largely concentrated in administrative, scheduling, or project coordination capacities. Roles with design-build firms near the ASU Research Park are the most likely to offer hybrid arrangements for desk-side responsibilities.
How can I get a superintendent job in Tempe with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Tempe is through an assistant superintendent or field engineer role with a mid-size general contractor working on the city's ongoing multifamily and mixed-use projects. Tempe employers building near the waterfront or on university-adjacent sites regularly hire candidates from construction management programs at nearby institutions. Demonstrating familiarity with scheduling software and a willingness to work urban infill sites strengthens any entry-level application.
