Mid Level Supplier Quality Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level supplier quality engineer job?
Position your experience around ownership, not just participation. Highlight audits you led, corrective actions you drove to closure, and supplier issues you resolved without direct supervision. Tailor your resume to show measurable outcomes, such as defect rate reductions or on-time supplier delivery improvements. Mid level roles go to candidates who demonstrate they can run a process independently, not just support one.
Which companies hire mid level supplier quality engineers?
Companies hiring mid level supplier quality engineers right now include Trigo, BAE Systems USA, and Xometry, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Hiring at this level covers manufacturers, aerospace and defense contractors, medical device makers, and automotive suppliers who need engineers capable of managing supplier relationships and quality systems without heavy oversight.
Are there remote mid level supplier quality engineer jobs?
Yes, though the role is frequently on-site due to audit and supplier visit requirements. About 14% of mid level supplier quality engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, typically covering documentation, reporting, and supplier communication work. Fully remote roles are more common in industries with established digital supplier management systems.
How do I move up to a mid level supplier quality engineer role?
Growth from entry level into mid level comes from taking increasing ownership over time. Build depth in a core quality system, such as APQP, PPAP, or FMEA, and seek out projects where you lead from problem identification through to closure. Measurable impact, such as reducing supplier escapes or improving audit pass rates, signals readiness. Certifications like CQE or ASQ credentials also strengthen the case for promotion.
Which industries hire the most mid level supplier quality engineers?
Mid Level supplier quality engineer roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Electronics & Hardware, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors rely heavily on complex supply chains and regulatory compliance requirements, which create consistent demand for engineers who can independently manage supplier qualification, audits, and nonconformance resolution at the mid level.
