INTRODUCTION
Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Procurement Strategy Planner to join our team in Kennesaw, GA. In this role you will support the development, execution, and tracking of procurement strategies across suppliers, cost reduction activities, and subsidiary procurement operations. You will partner with internal teams, suppliers, and Yamaha Marine Business Unit Subsidiaries to improve quality, delivery, and cost. This role supports procurement activities to ensure our customers enjoy a lifetime of exciting and memorable experiences on the water!
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with Strategy Package development (Global and Domestic) and ML setting, focusing on long term cost reduction, supplier optimization, and compliance targets for YMUS and Subs. Collaborate with affected departments.
- Support supplier short term cost reduction and/or resourcing for YMUS and Subs as identified and help communicate effectively with affected areas.
- Gather, analyze, and report procurement information for management review including monthly report.
- Aid team efforts in Supplier contracting, working closely with CSU and Subs to identify discrepancies.
- Assist YMUS and Subs continuous improvement regarding the Procurement Function Evaluation (PFE), Supplier development, and general activity as needed.
- Support Supplier tracking efforts, both active and potential, including set-up documentation, compliance, spend, commodities, performance reporting, strategy package score, etc.
- Participate in department planning and execution of the annual Marine Procurement Meeting. Engage in communication between department and other entities (Internal YMUS, Subs, Suppliers, Lodging, etc.)
- Perform other duties, support additional projects, and pursue professional development opportunities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA degree required. Business Admin or related field preferred.
- Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) preferred.
- At least 2 years' experience in supply chain, procurement, or quality field required.
- Experience in Boat or Automotive industries preferred.
- Intermediate technical abilities, including Excel, SAP, Power Point, Word, etc.
- Able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Intermediate interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) with experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
- Intermediate analytical skills, negotiation skills, and decision-making skills.
- Basic knowledge of freight, transportation, and expediting experience.
- Must be able to travel 25% (Domestic and International).
