Surgical Dental Assistant Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a surgical dental assistant in Nevada?
To work as a surgical dental assistant in Nevada, you must register with the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners as a dental assistant, which requires completing a board-approved dental assisting program or meeting an experience-based equivalency. Many Nevada employers also expect a Certified Dental Assistant credential from the Dental Assisting National Board. For surgical roles specifically, additional training in oral surgery procedures, sterilization protocols, and often IV sedation monitoring gives candidates a clear competitive edge.
Which companies hire surgical dental assistants in Nevada?
Employers hiring surgical dental assistants in Nevada right now include Renown Health, Fresenius Medical Care, and Owens & Minor, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nevada's concentration of multispecialty dental groups and hospital-affiliated oral surgery departments in Las Vegas and Reno drives steady, year-round hiring across the state.
Which Nevada cities have the most surgical dental assistant jobs?
Las Vegas, Reno, and Henderson are the Nevada cities with the most surgical dental assistant openings. Las Vegas accounts for the largest share because of its dense population, high volume of specialty dental groups, and hospital systems with oral surgery departments, while Henderson and Reno have grown as stand-alone markets anchored by regional medical centers and expanding multispecialty dental practices.
Are there remote surgical dental assistant jobs in Nevada?
Yes, but they're rare. Surgical dental assisting is a chairside, hands-on role that requires physical presence in the operatory. About 0% of surgical dental assistant openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve administrative or patient coordination duties rather than direct surgical support. Candidates seeking flexibility will find the most options in hybrid patient-intake or dental office coordinator roles.
How can I get hired as a surgical dental assistant in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing a Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners-approved dental assisting program and then applying to oral surgery practices that hire recent graduates for supervised surgical rotations. Large Nevada health systems such as Renown Health and Dignity Health occasionally bring on new dental assistants for general clinic roles that rotate through surgical settings. Moving laterally from a general dental assistant or sterilization technician position at a busy multispecialty practice is another common route, and holding a current DANB registration gives newer candidates a clear advantage at competitive Nevada employers.
Where can I find and apply to surgical dental assistant jobs in Nevada?
You can find and apply to surgical dental assistant jobs in Nevada on Migrate Mate, which lists current Nevada openings from employers across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly to each one.
