Surgical Technologist Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a surgical technologist job in Jacksonville?
Focus your search on Jacksonville's hospital-dense Southside corridor, the Downtown medical campus, and the growing cluster of ambulatory surgery centers along the Beaches and Mandarin areas. Large health systems and specialty surgical groups hire most consistently here. Candidates with scrub experience in orthopedics, cardiovascular, or robotic-assisted procedures tend to have the clearest edge in Jacksonville's competitive OR environment. Applying directly through health system career portals gives you the fastest traction.
Which companies hire surgical technologists in Jacksonville?
Companies currently hiring surgical technologists in Jacksonville include Mayo Clinic, Ascension, and Baptist Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's hiring mix leans heavily toward large integrated health systems and freestanding surgical centers that support the region's growing population base.
Are there remote surgical technologist jobs in Jacksonville?
Remote work is rare for surgical technologists because the role is inherently hands-on and OR-based. About 0% of surgical technologist openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to involve surgical coordination, instrument management, or training roles rather than direct scrub duties.
How can I get a surgical technologist job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is completing a clinical externship at one of the city's hospital systems or surgery centers, which often convert to hired positions. Jacksonville's ambulatory surgery centers and outpatient specialty clinics hire new graduates more readily than large academic ORs. Volunteering for flexible shift coverage, including weekends and evenings at Southside-area facilities, can put you in front of hiring managers before posted openings fill.
Which industries hire the most surgical technologists in Jacksonville?
The sectors hiring the most surgical technologists in Jacksonville are Education and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's status as Northeast Florida's primary medical hub drives sustained demand across those sectors, particularly as the region's population growth continues to expand OR capacity needs.
