Klaviyo's operational infrastructure, built and managed by our GTM Systems team, powers our GTM engine. We're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to keep those systems reliable, extensible, and ahead of the business so the teams that depend on them can focus on what they do best.
About the team
Our GTM Systems team sits at the center of Klaviyo's go-to-market engine, powering the operational infrastructure that connects marketing, sales, partnerships, and customer success. We build and own the systems that enable our teams to move quickly, trust their data, and focus on what matters most: helping our customers grow.
Our GTM Systems Partner team is a small group of technical builders owning the Salesforce platform and its integrations across our full GTM stack — from lead routing and lifecycle management to the external-facing partner portal and its integrations with partner management and payment systems data.
About the role
As a Senior Systems Engineer on the GTM Systems Partner team, you will own the enterprise systems end-to-end — from understanding the business process, to engineering the right solution, to measuring whether it moved the needle. You will own delivery, platform health, and code quality across a GTM stack — including the external-facing partner portal by sizing and building features, maintaining platform health, and shipping reliable integrations across our GTM stack. This is a high-craft, high-ownership role for someone who wants to write great code, drive quality standards, and see their work translate directly to Klaviyo's goals.
How you'll make an impact
- Own delivery of Salesforce solutions — Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, and integrations — from sprint planning through deployment, applying engineering best practices (DRY, SOLID, KISS) and holding a high bar for code quality through GitHub-based pull request reviews.
- Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and the broader GTM stack, including the external-facing partner portal; ensure reliable, secure data flows across partner management and payments while prioritizing strict access and permission governance.
- Triage and resolve high-impact platform and data issues quickly, owning the technical fix and communicating status clearly to the Product Owner and business partners.
- Use AI tools as part of your daily engineering workflow to ship faster, explore unfamiliar systems, and automate repetitive work — and help teammates build the same habits.
- Partner with the Product Owner and Architect during story refinement to size work accurately, surface technical constraints early, and ensure stories are fully ready before sprint planning.
- Mentor junior developers through code reviews, engineering standards, and pairing — accelerating the team's shift to professional-grade, git-based development practices.
This role may require up to 10% travel for purposes such as new hire onboarding, client or partner work if applicable, team meetings, and industry events. Travel is coordinated in advance.

Systems Engineer Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a systems engineer job in Boston?
Focus your search on Boston's defense contractors along Route 128, the biotech and medtech firms in Kendall Square and the Longwood Medical Area, and the enterprise software and cloud infrastructure companies in the Seaport District. Candidates with experience in systems integration, MBSE, or DevSecOps stand out in this market. Familiarity with government or regulated-industry compliance frameworks is a real advantage when targeting the defense and healthcare sectors that dominate local hiring.
Which companies hire systems engineers in Boston?
Companies currently hiring systems engineers in Boston include WSP, Anduril, and STR, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Boston's employer mix skews heavily toward defense primes, research-driven biotech firms, and established technology companies with significant government and commercial contracts.
Are there remote systems engineer jobs in Boston?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role, systems engineers doing hands-on lab work, hardware integration, or classified defense work are almost always required on-site, while those focused on architecture, modeling, or software-defined systems often have more flexibility. About 53% of systems engineer openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. Remote options are most common among enterprise software and cloud infrastructure employers in the Seaport and Innovation District.
How can I get a systems engineer job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is through associate or junior systems engineer roles at mid-size defense contractors and government-adjacent tech firms along Route 128, which regularly hire new graduates from MIT, Northeastern, and Boston University. Co-op and rotational programs at these employers are a common on-ramp. Hands-on experience with systems modeling tools, cloud platforms, or embedded systems projects, even from coursework or internships, gives candidates a concrete edge over those with purely academic backgrounds.
Which industries hire the most systems engineers in Boston?
Most systems engineer openings in Boston sit in Manufacturing, Science & Research, and Technology & Software, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Boston's concentration of defense contractors, life sciences companies, and research-driven technology firms creates unusually deep demand for systems engineers who can work across hardware, software, and regulatory environments simultaneously.
