Tax Manager Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a tax manager job in Seattle?
Focus your search on Seattle's technology corridor in South Lake Union, the professional services firms clustered downtown, and the financial institutions anchored in Bellevue and the Eastside. Experience with multi-state tax compliance, ASC 740 income tax accounting, or partnership taxation gives candidates a clear edge in this market. Roles in the region tend to reward CPA credentials and prior public accounting experience at mid-size or national firms.
Which companies hire tax managers in Seattle?
Seattle tax manager roles are posted by Amazon, Andersen, and BDO and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market is shaped by a mix of global technology companies, regional banks, and large professional services partnerships that maintain significant in-house tax functions in the Seattle metro.
Are there remote tax manager jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though availability varies, since tax manager work includes both desk-based analysis and hands-on collaboration with finance and legal teams. About 39% of tax manager openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting employer flexibility across the technology and professional services sectors. Provision review, tax research, and compliance work tend to be the most remote-friendly components of the role in this market.
How can I get a tax manager job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is starting as a tax associate or senior tax associate at one of Seattle's regional public accounting firms, where promotion timelines to manager are well defined. Mid-size firms serving technology and real estate clients in the Eastside corridor often develop talent internally and hire candidates who pair a CPA with two to four years of compliance or provision experience. Building familiarity with state apportionment rules and Washington's Business and Occupation tax structure also signals local relevance to hiring managers.
