Finance Assistant Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance assistant in Washington?
Most finance assistant positions in Washington require at minimum an associate degree in accounting or finance, though a bachelor's degree is increasingly preferred by Seattle-area employers. Washington does not require a state license for this role, but candidates who pass the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers certification exam or pursue coursework through Washington community colleges like Bellevue College gain a measurable edge in competitive applicant pools.
Which companies hire finance assistants in Washington?
Employers hiring finance assistants in Washington right now include Amazon, Quilcene Fire Rescue, and Noble House Hotels & Resorts, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Washington's mix of large technology headquarters, major aerospace contractors, and regional healthcare systems means consistent finance assistant demand well beyond seasonal hiring cycles.
Which Washington cities have the most finance assistant jobs?
Seattle, Bellevue, and Kirkland account for the largest share of finance assistant openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue concentrate most postings because of the dense cluster of corporate headquarters and financial services firms in the greater Puget Sound corridor, while Tacoma draws demand from healthcare networks and public-sector employers anchored in Pierce County.
Are there remote finance assistant jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 0% of finance assistant openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and software-driven nature of the work. Roles focused on data reconciliation, financial reporting, and accounts payable processing tend to be the most remote-accessible, while positions requiring on-site document handling or cash management typically remain in-person.
How can I get hired as a finance assistant in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to accounting clerk or accounts payable associate roles at Washington's large healthcare systems and public universities, which routinely hire candidates with no direct finance assistant experience. UW Medicine, MultiCare Health System, and Washington State University run structured new-hire training for administrative finance roles. An associate degree from a Washington community college plus QuickBooks or Excel certification gives candidates a concrete credential that offsets limited work history.
Where can I find and apply to finance assistant jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to finance assistant jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state right now. Search the listings, find roles that fit your experience and location, and apply directly to the ones that match.
