Finance Assistant Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance assistant in Florida?
Most Florida employers require at least an associate degree in accounting or finance, with a bachelor's degree preferred for roles involving financial reporting or budget support. Florida does not require a state license specifically for finance assistants, but candidates who pursue credentials such as the Certified Bookkeeper designation from the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers strengthen their applications. Community colleges throughout the state, including Miami Dade College and Valencia College, offer affordable accounting programs that align with what local employers expect.
Which companies hire finance assistants in Florida?
Florida finance assistant roles are posted by Blackstone, Omni Hotels, and PCL Construction and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's mix of large healthcare networks, financial services firms, and retail headquarters means hiring is spread across multiple industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Florida cities have the most finance assistant jobs?
Miami, Tampa, and Molino have the most finance assistant openings in Florida. Miami leads because of its dense concentration of regional banking offices, international financial services firms, and corporate headquarters, while Tampa and Orlando generate demand through large healthcare systems, insurance companies, and hospitality and tourism conglomerates that require significant back-office finance support.
Are there remote finance assistant jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than many support roles, since finance assistant work is largely desk-based and document-driven. About 0% of finance assistant openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the role's suitability for distributed teams. Accounts payable processing, financial data entry, and reporting tasks are the functions most frequently offered on a remote or hybrid basis.
How can I get hired as a finance assistant in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is applying for accounts payable clerk or billing specialist roles, which large Florida employers frequently use as entry points into their finance teams. Healthcare systems such as HCA Florida and AdventHealth regularly hire finance support staff at the associate level and provide on-the-job training. Completing an accounting certificate at a Florida state college, building familiarity with QuickBooks or Excel, and applying to internship programs at regional credit unions or municipal finance offices can move a candidate from no experience to a first hire quickly.
Where can I find and apply to finance assistant jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to finance assistant jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search for roles that match your experience level and target location, then apply directly to the listings that fit. No signup is required to see the openings.
