Field Auditor Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field auditor in Florida?
Most Florida employers require at minimum a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business. No single state-issued license is universally required for field auditors, but CPA licensure through the Florida Board of Accountancy or a Certified Internal Auditor credential through the Institute of Internal Auditors strengthens candidacy significantly. Many Florida insurers and government contractors also expect candidates to hold a Certified Fraud Examiner designation before advancing to senior roles.
How much do field auditors make in Florida?
Field auditors in Florida earn a median of about $79,250 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,280 for the lowest 10% to over $131,930 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field auditors in Florida?
Employers hiring field auditors in Florida right now include EXL Service, EXL, and ReSource Pro, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's large insurance market, anchored by carriers and third-party administrators concentrated in Tampa and Miami, creates particularly consistent demand for field auditors focused on workers' compensation and commercial lines.
Which Florida cities have the most field auditor jobs?
Sarasota, Miami, and Fort Myers have the most field auditor openings in Florida. Miami leads due to its concentration of insurance carriers, multinational financial services firms, and healthcare networks, while Tampa and Orlando generate steady demand through regional headquarters, state government contracting, and large self-insured employers that maintain internal audit teams.
Are there remote field auditor jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Field auditing is fundamentally an on-site role requiring physical inspection of records, premises, or operations, so most positions require regular travel to client or policyholder locations. About 85% of field auditor openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be report-writing, quality review, or desk audit assignments rather than traditional field inspection work.
How can I get hired as a field auditor in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a staff or associate auditor role inside a Florida insurance carrier or public accounting firm, where structured training programs move new graduates into supervised field work within the first year. Florida Blue, Sunz Insurance, and regional CPA firms in Tampa and Orlando regularly bring on associates without prior field audit experience. Pursuing CPA exam candidacy or enrolling in a CIA training program while working in an accounting support role significantly accelerates the move into field positions.
Where can I find and apply to field auditor jobs in Florida?
